@PrincessBaby: that's good! I think I've given DD 2 bottles in her 10 months so I'm probably in for a long haul!

I would just go but bring pads for leaking. Hand express if needed.

@PrincessBaby: do you have a manual pump? My medela came with one that uses the same parts- you pull it out to get suction (like a bike pump pretty much). It would be annoying for a full session but might be enough to take te edge off as needed? Or just brin your pump and use it for a few minutes if you really need to. You don't need to worry about keeping the parts super clean if you are fine with just tossing the milk anyway.

Can you switch to just once a day a day or so before the trip? Sort of ease your way into it?

ETA: whoops, you leave tomorrow!

@PrincessBaby: squeeze and pull. Watch a cow milking vid on YouTube, it's just like that. Heck there may even be an instruction video.

@Kemma: at the risk of sounding like a complete moron, to hand express, do I just give a good squeeze? Or do anything special?

@birdofafeather: h is doing really good with the bottle, even takes one from me so I'm hoping as soon as possible to just be done!

Good luck. My friend tried to use a trip away to wean. She got engorged, so pumped a little to relieve herself. When she came back, her LO still was begging for it! It took another month for her to wean (at 13 months)

I would just stop. maybe like @Kemma: said if you get too uncomfortable you can hand express just to comfort level or something?

Could you try hand expressing rather than pumping to just take the edge off?

I just stopped and I was fine, but my boobs weren't ever getting to the point of feeling super engorged anymore. We were nursing in the morning and before bed too.

I am down to BFing in the morning and before bed. I am sooooo ready to be D-O-N-E!!! But as most extended BFers know, it's a lot harder to quit than one would think. I am really not sure how to drop either feed bc of engorgement. Would I get mastitis/clogged duct/etc? How do I get rid of these feeds? Is it ok to be engorged a little for a couple of days until my boobs get the memo?

I am leaving in the morning for an overnight trip. I will nurse LO in the am, leave and then will miss her night feed, her Tues morning feed, and probably her Tues night feed.

Do I HAVE to pump? Can I just let it ride and be uncomfortable? Or is that a dumb route? I am so ready to be done, and I am trying to figure out how I can use this work trip to get the job done, finally!

Any thoughts or advice? Would I be crazy to just STOP? As over BFing as I am, I would rather stick needles in my eyeballs than pump.
