@Tionn3: we started Aug of 2015 and I'm on my 16th cycle now. I know that might be early days yet to some, but to me it has felt much longer. We have well-timed intercourse, so I will work with an RE for diagnostics.

Whatever we decide, it won't be an easy decision.

@Bibliolove: How long have you been trying for? My husband and I also think we will probably explore living child free if we are ultimately unable to conceive. We have both kind of agreed that IVF isn't an option for us...or more like he decided, but I don't think I would do it either...who knows.

I'm still chugging along. I've been reading about childfree lives and infertility, which has helped me overcome the intense grief and anxiety from the past year. I have always been a person that has embraced change and opportunity in my life, so I'm glad for that trait now. I still desperately want a kid obviously, but I don't think I will undergo treatment if that is what it comes to (for a number of reasons).

@Plainpistachio: I'm a total planner. The not knowing is definitely what is killing me. I guess I should get used to it though, because you're totally right, even when you do get pregnant there is still a lot of not knowing with the pregnancy, labor and delivery, etc. I'm so excited for you though, I'm sure everything is going to work out!

I just talked with a friend who is an obgyn and she reassured me that sometimes it really does just take longer for some people even when they are timing intercourse. It gave me more hope for sure, maybe even renewed motivation for cycle 8 =]

Thanks! Even now it's hard for me not knowing how and when labor is going to go down, lol. I surrender to the fact that I don't get to know everything.

@Plainpistachio: Thank you for such kind words! Yes, it is a strange no man's land, I'm now going onto month 8 and trying not to freak out because I'm still in that 12 month range. I'm just hoping that if I keep doing my thing that it will hopefully happen. If nothing happens, then we will be able to get some answers in March. For now, I'm just going to keep taking my vitamins, doing my OPKs, monitoring my CM and BD every other day. It's all I can do right now.

Also super exciting for your little one to be due in a couple of weeks!

Perusing the boards to distract myself from FB at work this slow afternoon.

@doxielove yay for a diagnosis! Any changes in your plans now that you know?

@TIONN3 I came onto the 6 month TTC board in my 7th cycle. I had so many questions! Coincidentally, it ended up being the cycle I conceived, and my 1st baby, a little guy is due here in just a few weeks. It's such a weird feeling to be in the 6-12 TTC range, because you aren't allowed (so to speak) to ask the doctor questions until 12 months, and you also realize that the strong and amazing ladies who are 12+ are so deep into their diagnoses and plans that you don't want to come off newb. 6-12 months is a special and weird no-man's-land where you kind of have to go out there and do some things on your own. It sucks! Just keep tracking those temps and cycles, and start doing the little tricks of the trade if they make you feel more in control. I started acupuncture, went to the vitamin store and loaded up on B-6 and a bunch of other recommended vitamins from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I also even bought progesterone cream from Amazon and rubbed it on my chest to see if it did anything to lengthen my 8-9 day luteal phases! It's funny because I did conceive the cycle I started doing all those things, but I have no idea if any of them did anything whatsoever! My husband was reluctant to get tested, but agreed to do so to help me calm down. He got the specimen cup and we were all ready to do the test when I decided we'd wait until after my next period that never came. :)

People kept telling me "stop trying and it will happen, you're stressing yourself out" etc. Screw that, it happened the month that I was trying the MOST! :)

@winniebee: Im so sorry for all your loses. That must be really hard.
@LibbyLou: I promised my husband I would get off the crazy train next month. I am at least going to make a really good effort to try and keep things chill. I am just discouraged after 6 months of BFNs. My mom seems to think it is not that unusual for it to take a year, but I have to wonder, if in those statistics they also include people that aren't having timed intercourse. It just seems that after 6 months of timed intercourse you would be pregnant...unless something was amiss... which I am extremely fearful of.

I am sort of a misfit. We've been trying for take home baby #3 for a year....4 early miscarriages, TMFR at 18.5 weeks, and now just kind of in no mans land....currently not trying not preventing. So, clearly I get pregnant pretty easily but with repeated losses I don't feel like I belong on the normal POAS board either.

@Tionn3: I know exactly what you mean. My DH also didn't want to track and make sex a chore so for the first year we were NTNP but I was tracking via app. Once I started opk the app was prettt spot on. I don't think men always get that you have 3-5 days that you can get pregnant. Plus everything else has to align!
We got pregnant using preseed- I always suggest that! I would totally just follow my app and not temp these months. At least know how realistic your chances are.

@LibbyLou: I just finished cycle 6, so we are onto cycle 7. The whole six months I charted and used opks...it seems like on the surface everything is working as it should. My DH wants to not track for cycle 7, 8 and 9, Cycle 9 we will be on vacation so that makes sense. I'm having trouble contemplating the possibility of relinquishing whatever control I've deluded myself into thinking I have.

Rest up and the best tip I got after surgery was to elevate my hips to dissipate the shoulder pain and extra air they give you. I felt so much better after doing that!

Well ladies, I'm happy to report I finally have a diagnosis: endometriosis. My doctor removed a ton of scar tissue from my right ovary and tube. That's all I know for now until my follow up visit in 2ish weeks, although she did communicate the next 6 months is when she'd like us to achieve pregnancy, since of course endo is a stubborn little devil that will pop back up. So, I'm relieved and optimistic. And not really in that much pain!

Popping in to declare that my body is confusing!!!! :silly:

I have my lap surgery scheduled for this Friday, which is CD13. I usually don't O until CD16ish, so, no issues with potentially being pregnant (ha!) during the surgery. But. I had an ultrasound yesterday (since it's been over a year since my last one - my doc wanted to check to see if there's anything new going on). The tech noted that I already ovulated this cycle...! Probably the day before the scan...meaning, CD 8!? I've never, ever ovulated that early. When I met with my doctor, she was initially very hesitant to move forward with the lap this Friday, since DH and I ended up BD O-1. After 4 years of never being pregnant, I highly doubt that this is the magical cycle I'm KU. Thanks, body, for throwing me a curve ball!! :bummed: Thankfully, my doc said that looking at my uterine lining measurements, it looked like I hadn't ovulated. So, surgery is a-go.

I would think that looking at my ovaries would be a better indicator of O than my lining, though??? Sorry for the rant!!

We just passed the 6-month TTC mark so I have recently found myself wanting to chat with like-minded women about all the fun we're having in our journey to baby! {And that was sarcasm. I was unprepared for how much TTC is the OPPOSITE of fun!!!}

I'm seeing my obgyn on Oct 5th and am seeing what our next steps are. The one year mark was highlighted last month when my sister called to tell me she is pregnant with their first on their first month of trying. I am so happy for her, but was shocked when she told me the news. I came home and cried a few tears for me. The next day I made my appt.

I know I will be a mom! Just not anytime soon.

@doxielove: how'd it go? Do you have anything scheduled?

AF started today. We are going on a combined mini vacay with a business trip during fertile week, so hopefully that will give us some good vibes!

How's everyone been doing?

I have my annual well-woman exam with my OB/GYN this coming Tuesday. I'm going to talk to her about moving forward with scheduling a laparoscopy to confirm our suspicions of endometriosis. Other than that, nothing new to report on from me!

@Winnie13: meds start soon, right? Good luck!!

@Bridget: every month is still a chance! But I know how hard it can be to keep the faith. What other choice do we have though?
