@AmeliaBedilia: Did OPK also confirm O? How often are you BDing in the days leading up to O, at O, after O?

Thanks for the responses. I have been charting for the past 18 months or so (since paragard was placed). I was ovulating day 19 fairly consistently (17-20 the range for a year) with a 9 day luteal phase. I found out that paragard lengthens the luteal phase and decreases the luteal phase, and these fixed themselves after the paragard was pulled out. Fertility friend has clearly confirmed ovulation each cycle, and CM matches up. I did OPK for a cycle, then realized it wasn't giving me much info I didn't already know (besides being inconvenient).

I just can't figure out why, which makes me think something is wrong with me.

Also, another thing to note is that you are actually statistically more likely to conceive by having sex around 2 days before ovulation. This is because it's best if sperm is waiting in your tubes for your egg to arrive.

If you are consistently ovulating on CD15, then you should try having sex every other day starting CD10 up until CD17 or so.

[attach=3198/13/murjdr.300x225.ovulation-graph.gif]

How are you so certain of your ovulation date? Are you charting your BBT?

Keep in mind that every cycle we all only have just a 20-25% chance of conceiving, even with perfect timing.

I wish my mom's fertility had been passed on to me lol.

Like @MrsMccarthy: said - could your O dates be off? How have you been tracking it?

Are you sure about your ovulation dates? Perhaps you should try te sperm meets egg plan or DTD every other day to maximize your chances. Even with charting ovulation can be tricky and OPKs are not always reliable. Best of luck! I know for most women 6 months to a year is normal.

Just sharing my experience when we TTc'ed #2.... I had Mirena for about 2 years after my first child, then got it removed at the beginning of August... Had withdrawal bleeding (or a period, not sure) two weeks later.

We started TTC right away. I temped and played around with OPKs in Sept... Got AF at the end of Sept... Did the same for Oct and got my BFP at the end of that month. So it happened on the 2nd cycle after removal.

@AmeliaBedilia: I had the mirena, and TTC after that took the longest for us. It took one try for DD and this current pregnancy, and after I got my Mirena taken out it took three cycles (I think). Though it wasn't that long, it seemed long after conceiving DD in one month (and now that we know how fast this current baby took, one month as well) it makes me wonder if the Mirena had something to do with it.

I don't have any real advice, just sharing what happened with us. I hope that you get your BFP real soon :)

ps totally love your username :)

I am 33 and had paragard for a little over a year and got it removed midcycle in May. I had mirena for 2.5 years prior. I am now on my sixth cycle TTC I am ovulating consistently on day 15 with a 12 day luteal phase. DH had a normal sperm count recently. We have been BD on ovulation day or the day before every single time, plus a few other times in the fertile window. My first 3 cycles were lighter than what I had prior to paragard, and now I am back to normal, except for a shorter cycle (4 days instead of 6-7 I had 4 years ago prior to IUDs). I have lost some weight, but still at a healthy weight (BMI 21-22). My mom had 5 pregnancies, and the longest one took 3 months, so I figured this would happen quickly.

Has anyone had delays after paragard? I am freaking out! Thanks!
