@raintreebee: I tried the endo diet before having surgery and I really felt it helped with the pain. I haven't been following it since, though. When I was diagnosed with endo I had been off the pill for more than a year (not ttc, but not really preventing it either) and the fact that we hadn't gotten pregnant yet made me a valid candidate for surgery - I don't know why they didn't suggest IUI/IVF (I guess it has something to do with our health insurance system). I do know that my OBGYN (who diagnosed me and then referred me to a specialized surgeon) strongly felt that I wouldn't be able to conceive without prior excision (my right ovary was stuck, plus scarring on the surrounding tissues), but that we'd be able to do so naturally afterwards. The surgery itself wasn't so bad - I was in pain for a few days but overall it went well. My OBGYN knew a really good surgeon so I guess I got lucky there. Surgery is definitely worth investigating, but maybe IUI/IVF is the faster route for you? The endo should disappear anyway when you're pregnant, right?

@Mrsvdv: Btw, have you read any books on natural endo cures? I tried the endo diet for awhile, but kind of fell off the wagon. Maybe I should try it again.

@Mrsvdv: Endo is a real PITA. So sorry you are dealing with it too. I just completed one IUI cycle. It failed, unfortunately, and now am on to the next one. I think the outcomes of endo and IUI aren't terribly great, so I am pretty much banking on having to do IVF. My RE doesn't really recommend excision before IVF (unless to treat pain), which makes me nervous. I think he thinks some studies don't support a higher success rate in IVF with prior excision (although excision wouldn't really hurt). Part of me thinks I should investigate surgery options because some studies do suggest a higher success rate with prior excision. My left ovary is stuck (you can see it on ultrasound, but I have never had a lap). How was your experience? It is hard to find trustworthy surgeons with this expertise.
Also, you are still early in the adventure. Many people with endo have no problem conceiving. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

@raintreebee: Hi! It's good to meet you, although I'm sorry you're dealing with endo aswell :( Have you already started the IUI/IVF? How's that going? I've been feeling better since my surgery, but now I'm off the Zoladex I'm constantly worrying it will come back if we don't get pregnant soon.. As if TTC isn't stressful enough! :)

Hi, I wanted to say hello. I am an endo sister as well. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice because we have been recommended to do IUI/IVF rather than surgery. I hope the best for you. Let me know if you want to commiserate about endo in general.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here! I wanted to introduce myself and maybe find some support: this was our 2nd cycle TTC and AF arrived today :(

So, some background: I got diagnosed with endometriosis in December 2012, got laparoscopic surgery in April 2012 to remove the scar tissue around my ovaries (mainly the right one), then got 3 months of Zoladex, got my period again 9 weeks after the last injection and we've been actively TTC for 2 cycles now. I really thought we'd done it this time, but I got a BFN last night and then AF showed up this morning... DH of course says not to stress and "que sera, sera" but we all know that's easier said than done!

Any bees out there familiar with endometriosis and/or zoladex? How soon did you conceive after the treatment and how soon did your cycle get back to normal? The doctors told us we should get pregnant asap to prevent it from coming back (and we really wanted to start trying anyway), so should I be getting worried after two missed cycles? I'm charting and using opks to optimize our chances, and DHs SA was good - is there anything else I should be doing?

(ps: sorry for the long post!)
