I would vote for C, then take the shot either when your doc says to, or when AF arrives (my plan too!) The question is just about mercury content in the shot. I was told that it has less than a can of tuna, so its really not a big deal.

A little advice please!
Tomorrow they are doing free flu shots at work and I was just going to do it. However, the form I need to fill out asks if you are pregnant or might be pregnant. It also says if you answer YES you should talk to your physician first. (As in they won't give it to you).

I will be 8dpo tomorrow. I change my mind hourly about whether I think this cycle is "the one."

So, should I:
a) check the NO box and get the shot
b) call my doc and ask him
c) skip the shot this time and get it later
d) POAS tomorrow morning and then decide (not that this is likely to tell me anything new since it is still so early...)

I'd do it now. Why not-- and if you do get any reaction better to get it over with (not that you could get the flu, but if you just feel crummy).

FWIW I got the flu shot 3 days before I conceived :)

@Littlebit: I'd get it now! The flu shot won't actually cause you to get the flu (it's an inactive virus). Might as well take advantage while it's free!

@Smurfette: oh, wasn't worried with it affecting TTC! Was just wondering if because of my superstitions (if you can even call it that) I should wait until I'm actually PG to get it, or get one now while it's free.

Ha! I'm in the exact same boat! TTC, and I've declined every year but I know my OB will insist on it during pregnancy. I say do it sooner rather than later and here is my reasoning: 1. It takes 2-3 weeks for the immunity to build in your system, so better now than in the heat of flu-season. 2, if worse comes to worse and you get the dreaded 'flu-like-symptoms' reaction, at least it will be now and you won't have it in the throes of first trimester morning sickness and exhaustion.

I think you're charting.. correct? Just keep in mind that there's a small chance it could affect your temps for a short period of time.

I would get one. I don't see why it would have any affect on TTC.

I've never gotten a flu shot before, even though my work gives them out for free. I know you're supposed to get them once you're pregnant, but should I just go ahead and get one now? Probably a silly question, but I've never gotten one before and I feel like getting the shot will jinx me and I'll end up getting the flu! Part of me says hold off on getting one until I'm pregnant, the other part says get one now while it's free!

What say you?
