<description>&#60;p&#62;Hi ladies! I'm new to the board, but wanted to jump in. We are currently in cycle 4. AF is now officially 8 days late. I've taken 3 hpts, all bfn. I'm starting to feel like I'm losing my mind. We're behaving as though I'm pregnant, but it's complete torture not knowing. Anyone else experience this? I'm trying to decide when to call my doctor and ask for a blood test and/or exam. We both have off on Monday. Should I call, or will I just sound insane?

<description>&#60;p&#62;Can a sore neck be a sign of anything, haha? I suddenly got a sore neck, right in the front close to where my neck connects to my head/jaw area. Did I just strain something, or could this be a symptom? :P

<description>&#60;p&#62;Like others have said, OPKs can detect HCG, however, from what I've read, they're not as sensitive as a pregnancy test. On the site that SSLM linked, the bottom set of photos showed that the OPK didn't turn positive until she got her BFP pregnancy test at 12 DPO. I wouldn't worry too much about the negative OPK!

<description>&#60;p&#62;An OPK can indicate pregnancy - but I don't think you produce HCG until implantation, which can as late as 12 DPO.

<description>&#60;p&#62;@GreenThumb: @kml636: I was going to say the same thing - I thought OPKs just predicted around ovulation. I don't think a negative OPK at 7 DOP really means anything, so I wouldn't put much stock into that.

<description>&#60;p&#62;@kml636: I wouldn't think that an OPK would be positive at 7DPO. Doesn't it just predict the time right before ovulation? I never heard of them staying positive if you are pregnant (or not pregnant). Anyone else?

<description>&#60;p&#62;This 2ww I really feel like I'm going crazy. One day I think I'm definitely pregnant, the next I feel nothing. I keep waking up with crazy dreams and can't go back to sleep. I know all this stress is counterproductive, but I just can't help myself. I took an OPK yesterday at 7 DPO, and I got all depressed that it came back negative, my friends all got several days of positives on those before they got an official BFP. I know it's silly... I just don't know what to do with myself.

&#60;p&#62;I got so excited when we I went off BC that I told a lot of my friends and my parents. I kinda wish I hadn't blabbed it to so many people since it is taking longer for my body to regulate then I had anticipated. &#60;/p&#62;

<description>&#60;p&#62;So here is a long update&#60;br /&#62;
I called my doctor's office to talk about my bleeding a few days after my OPK gives me a positive. They referred me to a GYN and I saw her Monday. I read her profile and she was listed as specializing in Infertility, so that made me feel confident. Even though her department isn’t the infertility dept, at least she has background knowledge. She was VERY nice and made me feel at ease. I showed her my calendar and she was impressed with all of my notes: Cycle start and end dates, symptoms (such as my left ovary aching when I have a positive OPK), dates of BDing, etc. Because I only got off the pill three months ago, she feels that this explains my irregularity and she is pretty confident that by April I should return to normal cycles. Especially because I’d told her that before the pill I was regular. She did order a thyroid test because it runs in the family and this could also be an explanation. (I looked up my blood work results and ran them by my nurse sister and she says they are fine. Waiting for the official call though.) Dr. was glad that I was being proactive about my concerns and didn’t feel that I had to wait the typical year of trying to raise these issues with her. She also wants my DH to get a semen analysis (he does partake in smoking habits that are known to decrease sperm motility), just in case there’s an issue there and they can “ship me out to infertility clinic quicker if need be”. We’ve run into a snafu there because his doctor is in a small private practice and had no idea what to tell DH when he requested an SA. “I have never dealt with infertility and have no idea what I’m looking at. Try calling MGH and seeing a urologist. No I can’t give a referral.” *face plant on desk*. Now I have to help fight this battle with DH. I called a fertility clinic in my home area and they will do an SA, which is relatively cheap and may even be covered by insurance, but ONLY with a work order from his primary care physician. Who is apparently clueless. He’ll have to call him again soon and try this again. OK that’s my long story of the month, ha!
