I am very new in the ttc journey, but I blogged about it! It was harder than I thought, because talking about it to people I know kinda makes me feel uncomfortable...but I really felt the need to blog about it. Anyway, you can check it out over at fraukuech.gmail.com.

I blogged our TTC journey. We did infertility treatments and I talked about everything. Other people getting pregnant, my emotions, how my body was feeling, what we were doing, etc. Once I got pregnant, it turned into my pregnancy blog :)

I think there's a lot going on in anyone's head during a TTC journey, so probably there will be plenty to write about. You could blog about your mindset, updates on your chart (if you choose to do that), how your husband is reacting to the TTC journey, etc. If you like to look at baby stuff online you could also post about baby items that you like. Those are just a few ideas...

I blog anonymously about TTC, but the site's called 'Baking and Babies'. So basically, I write about being frustrated/anxious/nervous/excited, and post the recipe that I'd make to cope with those feelings. They're usually chocolate.
If I were reading another TTC blog, I'd like something where its not just month after month of the same. Give me some info, tell me about something else you're doing in your life. Make it be about a little more than just your cycles.
But hey, at this point, I'd be happy to read anything TTC related.

I find the majority of TTC blogs I read... are ones who have been there and done that. I don't really follow many 'currently TTC' blogs (3 that I can think of) - most googling has led me to older blogs, that I can stalk the archives from.

I don't think it would be repetitive at all. There so much different stuff you could share:

- Your personal journey (your relationship; how you decided to TTC; how you deal with TTC with friends, family, coworkers, etc.)
- Resources/reviews (OPKs, cycle trackers, etc.)
- Questions to ask your OB/GYN or RE
- How to get ready for baby / baby "bucket list" (vacations, home buying/building, finances, career, etc.)
- Baby dreams (anything from nurseries, clothes, etc.)

i kind of agree with looch - i'm not a mom yet, but i'm pregnant now, so most likely to follow someone who's already a mom or in the same stage as me (in pregnancy)....

but thinking back a couple of months ago, when i was TTC, i guess the every day blog is probably too repetitive and boring, maybe the pros and cons of what your doing... what methods are successful or a "failure".... whether you're seeing specialists, and if there's a problem, what that is and how to address it.... ? hard to say.

it's really hard! to think of things to write about! i mean, most readers probably won't want to know what your daily temperature is, but would want to read your progress and your feelings?

I blog about real life and am very public about it. I also blog about my TTC struggles anonymously. It's interesting because I get more readers/comments and overall hits on my anonymous blog. I think it's because I'm more honest and able to write anonymously. Blogging is like therapy for me...

I think the repetitiveness could actually be comforting to those having a hard time themselves. Just having someone else going through that exact same thing, the frustration and impatience, could be therapeutic to read.

I was thinking about a ttc blog this very morning! I'm curious about foods you eat (incorporating more calcium, going out of your way to purchase the Omega-3 eggs for breakfast, etc?), how you handle drinks at events to avoid the raised eyebrows from friends that become convinced now that you're expecting... etc. Also, fitness stuff. I'm taking a pilates class today now that I've decided I'm ready to TTC !

Well, seeing as how I haven't started TTC yet, I definitely am interested in reading TTC blogs!

I would be interested in seeing the journey. What things did you do prior to TTC (doctor's appointments, prenatals, dentist, etc). When did you go off birth control prior to TTC (months before to regulate your cycle vs immediately). And then updates on what you're doing each cycle. For example, during the first month, a TTCer might just go with the flow. Then if they got a BFN, they might start charting. Maybe they start using OPKs. Maybe they start meditating. Stuff like that. Then I'd be interested in seeing how they get through the TWW. What sort of things do they do to keep themselves occupied.

Hope that helps!

I was thinking about this topic this morning. My view is a little skewed now, having been pregnant and given birth, so take it for what it is worth.

I wouldn't read about TTC now. I don't have the time to be invested in people's journeys, my LO is too demanding when he is awake. When I am online, I am looking for information, not feelings.

While I was going through it, I probably would have looked for someone with similar characteristics as me, who was doing it the same way (acupuncture, charting, OPKs, older than 35). I tend to be very list oriented, so to me a post is useful if it lists sources to buy OPK sticks, which pregnancy tests give you positive results earliest, what to look for in an OB, that kind of thing.

eta: also, unless you've BTDT, especially WRT to parenting, I am likely not reading your insights into parenting (general you, of course).

I would personally be happy to read about your plans for pregnancy/ parenting (or what you think they will be), if for no other reason then because I think it would be interesting to look back and see how things have changed once you actually are pg/have a baby! I also think that hearing about other people's plans for parenting/pregnancy/thoughts about the two help me clarify how I feel about them.

What types of posts would you look for in a TTC blog you followed? I'm trying to wrap my head around the logistics of blogging about trying to conceive. What if it takes much longer than expected?

Obviously there's more to write about than charting and the mechanics behind getting pregnant, but couldn't it have the potential to become repetitive? Would writing about your plans for parenthood and pregnancy be less valid if you're not there yet?
