I had 3 failed IUIs with an unknown diagnosis at the first clinic. Then I switched to another clinic and was diagnosed with PCOS and DOR and put on meds. I did another 3 IUIs with them but they failed, too. I got pregnant with my first cycle of IVF. I don't regret the IUIs I did. It was not painful at all and lasted like 5 minutes. My infertility was "unexplained," which was so frustrating! It was quick and painless for me and I went right back to work. Mine wasn't painful at all. The first one was uncomfortable because the RE wanted me to do it with a full bladder, I thought I was going to pee when the nurse put the ultrasound on my stomach! Our second IUI was successful. I'm actually starting another cycle in January as we are TTC#2. We might be cycle buddies! It's mildly uncomfortable when they put in the tube, but really it's just a weird feeling for a second. Do you mean how long does the whole process take, or the actual procedure? In my experience the actual IUI takes, like, 5 minutes, although you have to go in in the morning for blood/ultrasound (and your husband will have to go in for donation) and then come back a few hours later after they've washed the sperm. </p> <p>I also wanted to give you some encouragement - I did 8 IUIs over 5 years before getting pregnant on my second IVF, and am now 24 weeks pregnant for the second time with a baby I conceived naturally. I will be starting IUI on my January cycle with hopes it may help us with getting pregnant. my question is ...is IUI painful?? how long does it take??...what is everyones experiences with IUI??...I have water blockage in my tubes and so its harder for my hubbys sperm to swim anyone else have similar issues??... </p>
