@CupQuakeWalk: we also MCed after NTNP (I haven't been on bc at all since we got married, but I admit I relaxed on charting in December and wouldn't you know it? I got pregnant)

It stressed me majorly because I wondered (and dh later confirmed) that it sort of scared him away from wanting to really try. He was reluctant to risk going through that again because the bfp excited him more than he ever imagined!

Thankfully after I opened up about how I want to try *more* after that, he's come around and agreed to TTC in a few months.

Yet another reason to look forward to spring!

I've been dealing with it for two years and still don't really know how it works! Lol. Dh also takes metformin and trying to explain why I take it (but don't have blood sugar issues) is like trying to teach a fish to walk!

I hope they figure out what works for you soon! It's such a confusing thing to deal with...

@MaryM: No Metformin for me yet. They did blood work, and apparently I am not insulin-resistant, so I don't know if I would need Metformin anyway. But maybe they wouldn't still use it? I don't know...I'm still learning about this stuff! Lol.

How is your mood today? Meh. I'm 9DPO and despite a lot of optimism earlier in the TWW I'm now convinced it hasn't worked.

Where are you in this process? I am in the TWW of our second cycle TTC #2. I had a MC in November during our first cycle NTNP.

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Not really. My MC was unexpected and I found out I was pregnant in the ER with major stomach pain. My period was late but I was getting evapish tests. My HCG came back a six. Anyhow, the pain was from an uterine infection that can cause infertility. I'm now convinced I won't be able to get pregnant again.

I started charting again this cycle and my temps are dropping to the coverline already even though I usually have a 15 day LP. So confusing.

Is there something really bringing you down? see above.

Is there something really bringing you up? DD is the most wonderful thing and I'm so proud to be her mom.

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? house hunting.

I'll join in, why not? I have really appreciated reading every one else's experience. Further proof that it doesn't really matter how long you've been trying, how you deal with it emotionally is real and very similar across the board.

How is your mood today? Well, it's been all over the place. It started fine (yesterday was bday, so I was still on a pampered high), then a coworker announced her pregnancy and I went to the bathroom and cried, and now I just found out my husband got temporary job promotion that will entail a nice raise for the 4-month position, so that's way exciting!

Where are you in this process? Just hit the 11 month mark, but because of PCOS, only 5 ovulatory cycles and 1 annovulatory. I am current CD 36 of my first cycle on Clomid 50mg, it didn't work. So I'm taking Progesterone to induce my next cycle and then I'll be trying Clomid 100mg.

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Not at all, for the above state reasons.

Is there something really bringing you down? Obviously, the discovery of the PCOS and the fact the first cycle of Clomid didn't even result in ovulation is upsetting. I also don't really like my job, and I was offered this preschool teaching job that would have made me so happy, but I had to turn it down for financial reasons.

Is there something really bringing you up? My husband's new temporary detail will give us some extra funds to try to set aside a little more in our savings!

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? I just started tracking everything on My Fitness Pal and sticking to a PCOS diet (as best I can). I need to start incorporating exercise. Like @littlek: I have gained about 20-25 pounds since TTC.

@sandy: I'm an emotional eater too. I have gained so much weight during this TTC process. Like 15 pounds. :(

@sandy: Ummm, i would've been so annoyed (and in pain) during that appointment! Yup, i much prefer periods over days of spotting. I made DH stay in a hotel for a weekend after his appointment because of all the specific instructions! He also slept in the guest room for 1 week and stayed away from LO for a few days. I can't believe you had to go through the treatment twice!

@Freckles: I wish I never got an IUD too...I always had very regular cycles on BC and then I basically spotted 20 days a month for six months and continued to have random spotting for the next six months...I hated that thing so much. And then they had trouble getting it out and were about to send me for an u/s to locate it but my doc was persistent and able to locate it and remove it. That was a fun appointment. I also had my thyroid ablated with radioactive iodine...twice...but I was single and not TTC...after the treatment they had instructions like flush the toilet a few times after using it, don't hold babies or small children, abstain from sex, etc...i had to get multiple pregnancy tests on those days bc they have to be extra sure you're not pregnant...I was like "how safe is this?!?"

How is your mood today? Okay. A little sad and anxious.

Where are you in this process? Cycle 4. We took a break after a CP.

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Not sure. I've been so stressed at work, and not sleeping as much as i should (because i'm working after LO goes to bed) so i worry if that's affecting my TTC chances.

Is there something really bringing you down? I wish i never got an IUD! That delayed our TTC plan by 2 months, which i know is not a big deal but bothers me more each month i get a BFN.

Is there something really bringing you up? Other than DH and LO, yoga! After years of being a chickensh**, i'm finally attempting a headstand and almost there!

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? Work, LO, food. Lots of bad food.

@sandy: DH had Graves too! That also delayed our TTC plans because he had to get his thyroid irradiated. I also wish we started earlier. All of my friends around me are already pregnant with #2 and i hate all the questions i get or the, "are you pregnant??" when i go back home.

@Crystal: love it! It has a really big database of food and you can scan in UPC codes too. You can create recipes and I'm able to find nutritional info for restaurants too. It's just super easy to use. It sets a daily calorie goal for you and you can enter exercise too. You can link up with friends and share your food diaries to get ideas about meal or just to encourage each other. Also, it's free!!!

How is your mood today? Today was a great day - my friend hosted a mommy brunch play date with yummy food and the kids all played so well together we were all able to sit and talk which was so nice. Three of my friends in the group know I'm starting to get anxious about not getting pregnant so it was nice to be able to talk to them - especially my one friend who went through years of fertility issues and now has 2 little girls. But then I realized everyone today had 2 kids except me. And two of my other friends are pregnant (due in March and June) - one of which I met in our birthing class. I think I'm just feeling very anxious about the unknown and whether I'll be able to get pregnant

Where are you in this process? Currently cycle 7 (CD8) for baby #2

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? I worried about fertility issues a lot when I was younger bc I have a thyroid issue (Graves disease which is an autoimmune disorder) and everything I read when I was getting treatment talked about trouble conceiving. But then we got pregnant right away with LO so I put that out of my mind. But now I'm turning 35 next month and all those thoughts are coming back that I have a problem that will make it difficult to get pregnant

Is there something really bringing you down? Not really anything specific yet. Just wished I had started TTC for baby #2 earlier. My husband was ready to start after LO turned 1 and I was not ready until she was almost 2. Also, whenever we meet up with friends I hate talking about when we're going to have another baby.

Is there something really bringing you up? My husband and my little girl make me smile everyday

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? I'm an emotional eater but trying to keep things under control by counting calories... My two most used apps right now are FF and MyFitnessPal

@Radish: What a great thread! Thank you, friend.

How is your mood today? Okay, TTC-wise. A little sad because of some other circumstances. My dad's brother passed away last week and it has been really hard.

Where are you in this process? Finished my last birth control pack last April. Have only had 4 cycles since then--because I was pregnant from August-October and then dealing with the miscarriage process from hell from October-January. Finally got another period and am hoping to POAS again in early March.

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Sort of? Feeling good about BD this month, but still worried that my body isn't back to normal after my MC.

Is there something really bringing you down? I would have been due in April with my MC baby, so the closer we get to that date, the harder it is to feel happy/optimistic about the process.

Is there something really bringing you up? I got a normal period! I think (hope?) I'm ovulating! New beginnings are just around the corner. :)

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? Work's been nuts, I've been trying to do yoga, and have been doing some fun things to make my DH feel extra special lately. :)

@radish: Thanks, friend. Yeah, I've been actively wanting a baby for almost a year now, so even though we're still new in the TTC process, it's that much more emotional because I've been waiting a while.

@Radish: Such an adorable thread! Great idea!

@MaryM: :shocked:

How is your mood today? Fine. I am a little tired, so that makes me a bit grumpy, but overall I am happy.

Where are you in this process? 8 cycles in, and waiting to O. I had a MC after my 6th cycle, still waiting on that sticky baby!

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Not entirely. I have not 100% regulated since my MC in December, but I am closer than I was before. This was our first TTC cycle allowed by the Dr, so I am feeling really hopeful this will be it!

Is there something really bringing you down? Not being pregnant? lol Work has been a challenge recently, but I am trying to be more positive.

Is there something really bringing you up? All you lovely ladies. ♥ And my DH is being so incredibly sweet and wonderful to me.

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? I am crocheting a blanket, watching the Olympics, and trying to get in better shape.

@PurplePumps: sounds like you are in a great place! FX!

@MrsMcD I am really hoping 10th time is the charm for you!

@septca: I think a lot of people have been extra discouraged lately and I think it's good to post it because it lets you get it off your chest and be honest. I saw what you posted before about weaning and we were down to once a day so I decided that yesterday was DDs last day of nursing. It's kind of sad, but I know she will be fine without it.

@littlek: I really hope your luck changes soon!

@2PeasinaPod: I can't imagine the emotional toll 3 miscarriages would have on top of such an already difficult process. Much love your way.

I wasn't sure if I'd fit in here (since we're technically NTNP), but seeing all the diverse answers, I figure why the hell not?

How is your mood today? Best descriptor would be "meh." I think I'm beyond being emotional, but not quite jaded.

Where are you in this process? two and a half weeks post-miscarriage after a surprise pregnancy (DH and I had been NTNP for 2.5 years)

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Hell no. my temps are all over the place and I'm scared my body will revert back to 100+ day cycles that I had a couple years ago before discovering I had PCOS and taking progesterone to regulate them.

Is there something really bringing you down? See all of the above! And I think I'm still a little sad that DH isn't as ready as I am to try a little less NTNP and a little more TTC (even though he's come a long way from being scared to try at all to get pregnant and has agreed to only put it off a few months...but I'm getting so tired of all the waiting that comes with pregnancy/miscarriages/women's bodies in general)

Is there something really bringing you up? DH does that too. He's been a fantastic partner. So fantastic that I often feel guilty at how little I do, but I still so appreciate his fantasticness (he was off today so cleaned the bathroom and will have a homemade meal ready for me when I get home tonight)

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? I'm sort of failing at distractions! I need more :)

It's nice to see a diverse group! Those who are just starting and those who may have been TTC for a bit.

How is your mood today? A bit discouraged and scared.

Where are you in this process? 2 miscarriages and a year and a half before we got LO. We're currently 5 months after our 3rd miscarriage and feeling a bit defeated.

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Not at all. I feel like my body is betraying me. 3 miscarriages in 4 pregnancies gives me very little confidence! The only confidence I have right now is that my cycle is regular.

Is there something really bringing you down? Right now, seeing everyone having multiple children with zero issues. It's hard to swallow that we're having such a hard time.

Is there something really bringing you up? LO...he is the light of my life aside from DH. If we don't end up having a second, LO is absolutely wonderful, healthy, and such a happy little guy!

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? Running...it's usually what I do to distract myself, clear my head and relieve myself of stress.

 Lots of luck to all

How is your mood today? I'm okay, a little down. Dealing with insurance is messing with my mood. I've found out that we are pretty much going to have to pay out of pocket if clomid doesn't work. We have the money for the procedures I just feel like it's extra pressure to get pregnant since it's our money not insurance. My husband is also trying to find a new job so he's been all over the board emotionally.

Where are you in this process? Cycle 7. I've started working with RE

Are you feeling confident about your cycle/body? Yes, I know I ovulate but I feel so UNLUCKY... when you are looking at 15% chance each month, luck comes into play.. and so far no dice

Is there something really bringing you down? Insurance

Is there something really bringing you up? My son. He's the light of my life.

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? Exercise. I've gained about 20 pounds while TTC.

@CupQuakeWalk: When you said - I do have a son, so just thinking about him and enjoying him makes me think "if he is the only one I ever have, i'll be OK" - I cried because me and DH say that to each other recently!

Thanks for getting me... Yeah I don't think I'll be fine till I am pregnant either. :(

I wasn't going to post here because I am just really down today and didn't want to bring that here. But @Radish: seeing you say that others sharing their experiences has made you not feel so alone made me decide to chime in. Sorry in advance if I am a total Debbie Downer. Today has been really hard.

How is your mood today? Pretty down and overly emotional - I have almost started crying several times. I definitely feel the PMS monster creeping in. I also got some really bad job news last week that just sort of hit me today. I have to make some really tough decisions within the next few weeks about where I go from here and what I want out of my career, so that's rough. Like I said, the PMS isn't helping.

Where are you in the process? I am 12 DPO on cycle 3 of TTC #2. I went through a long struggle with infertility to conceive DD, so I am just so scared that we are heading down that road again (even though it's a ridiculous fear - we had a very clear issue that was preventing conception and got KU the first cycle it was fixed). The same health issue (endometriosis) that created our fertility issues means that we have to TTC against the clock or deal with regrowth in my tubes, which just makes the whole process so much more stressful.

Are you feeling confident in your body/cycle? No, not really. We had lousy timing this cycle, but something has just been *off* since we started TTC #2 and today I did a bunch of research that confirmed what I already knew in my heart... while some women get pregnant while breastfeeding, for many others BFing can impede O or implantation or cause high prolactin levels which can lead to m/c. So I have made the very difficult decision to wean DD within the next month or so.

Is there something bringing you down? I think I have that one well covered above.

Is there something really bringing you up? DD brings a tremendous amount of love and joy into my life. On days like this I just want to squeeze her tight and never let go. As much as we feel like our family is not complete with one child, I know that DD is more than we ever hoped for when we were struggling to conceive. She is a wonderful, happy, healthy child and some days I feel bad that I am stressing about TTC when I already have such a joyful child. That, and DH is out of town, so I am having cheese and crackers and wine for dinner. LOTS of wine. :silly:

What other things are you focusing on to distract you? For now getting DD fed, snuggled, and in bed and then later some trashy tv and the aforementioned wine. Tomorrow I will resume figuring out the job situation. Tonight belongs to just me because sometimes in the midst of being a wife and a mom and an employee, I am not very good at taking care of myself.
