I will definitely be bringing up those tests at my next appointment! One frustrating piece is that they did testing spread out over attempts. I didn't understand why they would do ALL possible tests to know the best way to achieve success. I definitely have experienced the Clomid Crazies...and the trigger shot basically zaps me of energy. Part of my fear with IVF is how I will respond to all of the drugs. I am naturally an emotional person, and this whole process if really hard for me. Thankfully my husband is very supportive and understanding. But it is so stressful when your emotions are all over the place and you have zero control over them. Tried for almost 3 years, moved on to RE after 2ish years. We did 3 IUIs (2 more were canceled midcycle) before we moved on to IVF. Zero of IVF was covered by our insurance, so we could only afford one try. But it worked! </p> <p>I will say that I wish we had taken a short break between IUIs and IVF and then between retrieval and transfer. The hormones were getting increasingly difficult on my body, and when we did get pregnant off the fresh IVF cycle, I had no recovery time between the hormones from IVF and the hormones from pregnancy. It's been very difficult on me physically, and it's my one regret. I had this thought in the back of my mind that I ignored the whole time, and in hindsight, I would listen to my body better.</p> <p>HB was and is a great support to me, so I hope you're able to find the same! I wish I had taken the nurse's advice and moved to IVF after 3 cycles. IVF really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I personally had very few symptoms and the shots were not that bad. The IUI roller coaster and all the appointments etc were heartbreaking and exhausting. We've been TTC for almost 3 years now. We tried on our own for a while, then went through 3 rounds of IUI, with Clomid and trigger shots, and had no luck. After being mentally and emotionally drained, we decided to take a break. That was a year ago. We still were TTC on our own but just playing the every 2 day game to cover our bases and not really focus too much on it. With no luck, we have now made our way back to IUI land and had our first one this morning. The doctor said he is willing to try a few cycles again before we take to IVF route, because everything checks out normal in both of us. It's so hard to remain positive, and to not feel like there must be something we are doing wrong. Reading everyone's stories this morning has been so helpful, and I am just looking for all the support I can find right now! </p>
