Yes, I found out mine was low after about 8 months of trying for baby #1, and was started on 25 mcg of Levothyroxine. I found out a week later I was already pregnant, but have remained on the levo ever since.

I had thyroid ablation treatment with radioactive iodine so my thyroid is now under active and I take 88mcg of synthroid a day. I was on it for years before TTC but I didn't have trouble getting pregnant - BFP my second cycle trying. After I had LO my thyroid levels were out of control but everything normalized after a month or so

Agree with @pui: I was under control with meds (twice a much as you!) and had no problems conceiving. It does take a month or so for the medication to build up in your system.

Hi- in the same boat. Was borderline Hypo (TSH was 6.3) and I told my doc I was planning on TTC, so she started me on Synthroid. In the 2nd TWW now, but I will say, since starting the Synthroid, my cycles have gone from 36-41 days down to 31-33, with a 14 day LP.

Also, I have heard that hypothyroidism doesn't affect getting pregnant so much as staying pregnant- it can cause MCs. Glad we are both on the meds.

Good luck!

I was also diagnosed with hypothyroidism (TSH was 12.44) while TTC. I started taking Synthroid (adjusting my dose once) and my levels evened out pretty quickly, like within a month and a bit. Once your levels are evened out, you shouldn't have any more trouble getting pregnant than anyone else. :)

In around 4-6 weeks get your blood drawn again to make sure you are on the right dose. You want your TSH to be between 0.5 - 2.5.

Hello Everyone!

I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and starting taking 50 mcg of Levothryoxine. I really hope this helps as we have been ttc for 4 months and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Anyone else have under active thryoid or take levothryoxine and helped them get pregnant? How long did it take for the medication to help? I am trying not to be impatient

Would love to hear other ppl's experiences!
