I have one an I don't think it had anything to do with my issues TTC. I only found out because sex felt very different post baby, and my midwife was able to tell me that it hadn't gone back it the usual place.

I found out I had a tilted uterus about 2 years ago from my gynecologist, then that I had endometriosis 1 year ago from my RE. Sometimes endo can cause a tilted uterus, but usually they are just that way for no reason at all. According to my doctor, a tilted uterus, in and of itself, does not cause problems. I only wish that my gyno had seen it as a possible sign (along with other signs) for endo.

I also have tilted uterus and have wondered if it has played a part in my difficulties TTC, but like many have said here I don't think it does. I have read online that there are a few positions that may be better for TTC with a tilted uterus. So you may want to check that out.

I was told mine was tilted at an annual exam years ago. It has continued to be. We didn't get pregnant on our own (we did IUI) but my RE never seemed to think that had anything to do with it. I'm curious to see at my next ultrasound how it is positioned.

Thanks everyone! You all are fast with the information, and it's all good to hear.

@DuckduckKristen: my mom also had a tilted uterus and four children as well! It took them a long time to get pregnant though, for whatever reason.

@Adira: retroverted means the uterus is tilted backwards. I'm not sure what it's called if it tips forward.

@Winniebee: I read the same thing about that position. Wouldn't hurt to try!

I also read that the uterus can tilt into normal position after getting pregnant. I always imagined it tilting like a scale and needing a lot of weight to move it forward. But supposedly it can be enough weight to change it at 8 weeks!

My OB mentioned it last year that I had one. At my last IUI, I asked about it and she said that my uterus is back to normal. So I guess it's not permanent.

A tilted uterus is very common. My mom's was tilted and she had 4 kids no problem. As long as you don't have any other issues it shouldn't be a problem. (According to DH who is a radiologist and does a lot of studies for infertility).

I had (have) one and was able to get pregnant my first month trying. When I went for my 6 week check up my uterus completely closed back up and instead of titled is now a "c" shape. I asked about next time and she said it still shouldn't be a problem!

I have one and have 3 DDs so I don't think it effected me too much. I did read that sometimes sperm can get trapted behind the cervex so putting your feet up might not help-instead lay on your stomach with a pillow under your hips. I alternated this and putting my feet up just to have my bases covered, lol.

I've been told I have a tilted uterus, though the term retroverted did not come up. It took us six cycles to get pregnant, and during the last cycle, I was really conscious of making sure my hips were tilted up after sex - I would prop my feet up against the wall so my hips were practically vertical. Not sure if it helped or not, but it certainly didn't hurt!

I wasn't TTC but I have a tilted uterus. I went off of birth control in August and conceived in October without actively trying to get pregnant.

I was told about it really at my 8 week ultrasound (I think a doctor had told me a few years before that too at my annual exam). The ultrasound tech told me it's like being left handed and that it shouldn't affect anything as far as TTC in the future or my pregnancy. I had no problems with my pregnancy besides a low-lying placenta that moved on it's own by 28 weeks.

I have a titled uterus-it is retroverted, to be exact. A doctor told me awhile ago that it wouldn't be a problem with trying to get pregnant, so I didn't think much of it. Now that we're TTC, I'm trying to find out a little bit more on the topic and there seems to be varying thoughts about it.

Has anyone dealt with a tilted uterus while TTC? Did your doctor have any concern and/or advice for you?
