I lost count of how many kiddos I saw whose language skills exploded after getting tubes. My little brother had multiple sets of them. She was 10 months old when she got them and had 10 (!) ear infections before that. I almost say I wish we would have done it sooner, but I am glad we waited because 10 months is still just so little to do anesthesia, I would have been a wreck if she was any younger.</p> <p>Her ear infections were both frequent and difficult to treat and had them all summer long. We got them in January when DS was 12 months and have only had one ear infection since that was quickly treated with drops. She hasn't had an ear infection since June so we are hopeful that maybe she has outgrown it, but they are awful for her, so I won't hesitate if it's another bad one. She's not had an ear infection since then and her colds aren't nearly as severe either. I was really anxious about the idea of "surgery" but it was so quick and the recovery was immediate for her. And clearly she's doing so much better. Anyone with experience? Was it well worth it? I feel so bad that my LO keeps getting ear infections, and they always come on so strong! I wish we could get them now honestly so she's not in pain anymore. </p>
