We loved our boba 3G because we could use it from birth to basically 2 without an insert. :)

I've never used an Ergo, so I can't honestly compare them. I have 3 tula's and I absolutely love them. It works well for my baby, and it's still super comfortable for my 22 month old. I really like that I can use it for so long, the weight goes up to 45 pounds I believe. Also, with a tula, you can sell it for pretty much retail or more than retail depending on the print ( and condition you keep it in. ) I would see if your city has a babywearing group with a lending library. There's so many different carriers out there, it's nice to try a couple out and see what really works for you :)

@Candy_nee: I highly recommend it! You can have them face in like the ergo/tula as well as forward face. Also, the back support is awesome. I have an infant insert for the ergo but used my k'tan until my baby was older!

@Candy_nee: beco Gemini also faces out. My LO never liked it, but that was a big part of the reason I chose it, in case she did.

I think it depends on how long you will really be wearing the baby- which you really won't know until it's here. We had a beco , then borrowed an ergo when c got too tall for the beco. She was tall in the ergo too by it was a little more comfortable. This was at around 20 months and she is on the shorter side. I really wanted a Tula at that point (it was a loooooonnnngggg snowy winter and the carrier was the only way to get around since the sidewalks were too snow covered for strollers). By since she was already so old I hesitated to buy another carrier. If I could I back, knowing how much I did wear her, I'd have gotten the Tula to begin with.

@MRSJX3: great suggestion about the lillebaby. If #2 is anything like #1, he will be miserable only facing me.

Thanks for all the feedback ladies! Maybe I'll just register for both and see which one I get? Then if I don't get either, I can get the Tula on my own.

I have been lusting after Tulas but in all reality really love my Ergo. Got it on sale at Target and I really love the front pocket and zip pouch, which the Tula doesn't have (I think it has a small waist pocket?). Love being able to carry a burp cloth, diaper, wallet, phone, etc when we go on walking errands.

I don't have a Tula but have an Ergo 360 and really like it so far! I have a hand me down Becco and I actually like the Ergo better.

I def would try a Tula but it's so hard to get really cute ones!

I have an Ergo and we have loved it since H was 2 months old. She's 19.5 months and I'm starting to feel like it's time to invest in a Tula. The shell is really short on us now and I feel like the seat is getting more uncomfortable as time goes on. But we still use it daily.

I absolutely love my Ergo. Can I also suggest you consider a Lillebaby (If you eventually want to face the baby out)? I have one of those and I love it as well!

Can anyone let you borrow one before you invest?

I bought wraps and an Ergo but my baby wasn't snuggly at all and hated the carriers until he was much bigger (6/7 months+). I loved our Ergo but the time I used it was so short-lived (I used it from 6/7 months to 2 years-ish, he was an early walker, but the Ergo made sporting events, festivals, public transportation, etc., easy), I wish I waited for a deal or borrowed one.

I've not had an ergo so I can't comment on that. But my Tula has been great. We've used it since two months . Bought the infant insert because my baby is teensy so she needed that for awhile.

I've had both and MUCH prefer the Tula!!! Although baby will be too small for either as a NB (you can get a NB insert but I wouldn't use it) and I would use a stretchy wrap until LO is big enough.

My Tula is a half WC and it is amazing! My 2nd hated every carrier we had until I got the Tula. The Tula is more comfortable than the Ergo and will fit baby longer (wider and higher shell height). I had an Ergo Performance with DS which I loved and used all the time but had I know what a world a difference the Tula was I would have gotten one sooner. We used some other carrier types with DS too (WCRS, WCMT, woven), but I prefer SSC over all of those.

From what I've heard Tulas are much more comfy/cuter than ergos. I think they are a bit more expensive though. I was gifted an ergo 360 at my shower but haven't used it yet (still waiting for LO to arrive)...so not really helpful lol but if I had a choice I'd go for the tula.

I'm due with #2 in about 6 weeks. I've looked into both a Tula and an Ergo and am just not sure which way to go. I rarely wore #1, but am thinking I'll wear #2 quite a bit since my first is only 2. I will use a K'Tan around the house I'm thinking. But, I'd like something sturdy and supportive for when we're out and about.
So - which one is best? Tula is cuter and has adorable designs. But which one is really worth the money?
