Natural waist works for front carry but for back carries, you need to lower it. This is true with soft structured carriers, and especially for the big babies! If you don't have help, it's easiest if you can stand the carrier on a step or chair or bench or table so that you don't have to just bend down and dead lift it, but it goes on like a backpack and you put the kid in first.
