The regular ones are canvas and fabric. The wrap conversions are made from woven fabrics that can get pretty pricey. I tried a wrap with LO and didn't care for it. I knew that I needed a sturdy carrier since we'll be managing LO #1 during warm summer months with LO #2 in tow. They're gorgeous, but I think it's a preference thing. I've read people say that if you want the look of a WC but the support of a canvas, you should get a half WC or a semi WC (where the wrap is only on the front and straps - half; or the front only - semi). The canvas is stiffer and more supportive. If KPs are better, how do you buy them? I got it because with LO #1, we had basic Baby Bjorns. I hated mine. If you're getting it for a new baby, you really need an infant size. A standard will be WAY too big. The infants are designed so that you don't need an insert, and they don't make inserts anyway.
