I'm a fail mommy when it comes to tummy time, but she's got incredible neck control because she likes to be held upright and is very nosie! I try to flip her on her tummy after diaper changes, sometimes she goes for it, sometimes she screams!

Yeah, 1 hour seems like a lot! We did 20-30 minutes a day during his wakeful periods!

I try to do multiple periods of tummy time during the day. Usually, DS is most happy right after waking up and getting a diaper change, but before eating. If I try to do tummy time too soon after a feeding, he just spits up all over the place and gets really angry. So our routine looks a bit like:
wake up
diaper change
5-15 minutes of tummy time (whenever he gets frustrated)
15 minutes on his back/being held
5-15 minutes tummy time
30+ minutes on his back or being held
bottle
sleep

My LO hated tummy time. I would make her do it anyway, but never for that long. She still was always able to keep up with the milestones of lifting herself up.

We only had tummy time for about 5-10 mins/day for the first couple of months.

@cvbee: Ditto, I keep tummy time going until he gets mad. I probably get 5+ minutes per day and that's it.

For the first month or two, I was lucky to get 5 minutes a day of tummy time. I don't like doing it after she ate so that made it tricky to time since she was always nursing. I just tried to do it when I remembered and she had time to digest her last meal. It wasn't until 3 months that I made a harder effort to do it every day for a set time and LO learned to roll over at 4.5 months. She also had pretty good neck control my around 3.5 months since she liked to be held upright and was a curious little one.

One hour seems like a lot. I was lucky if I managed to get in 15 total minutes throughout the day. I'd try to find a few minutes here and there when LO was in a good mood, usually right after I changed her.

I try to incorporate it into play time when DD is happy and alert. Otherwise she gets really cranky when I put her on her tummy. I also try not to do it right after I feed her b/c then she tends to puke up half of her meal. She almost always spits up on tummy time, and then her face ends up all covered in spit-up. Yuck!

one hour? whoa! that seems like a long time (even if it is throughout the day).

I try to give tummy time a try at some point during each awake period. If he's mad about it, I just don't push it because we'll try again later. I keep the tummy time going until he gets mad.

Some of my most successful tummy times are actually with him on the change table while I get ready (it's in our bathroom) and he watches me brushing my teeth and such.

Most of the time he is mad about tummy time.

I am having trouble finding time in the the day for tummy time. I heard that I should be aiming for 1 hour a day. Any suggestions on how to incorporate tummy time into our day? I was going to do after I fed DS but he tends to fall asleep right after nursing.
