@MrsTiz: LO hated tummy time until she got to be able to roll across the room easily around 5.5 months. It was overnight. She crawled at 8 months (or the day before) which I think is in the normal range.

L hated it sooo much. I didn't push it either, because her CDs were sooo fluffy on her, and it just looked awkward and uncomfortable. So, I pretty much skipped tummy time. She was a lazy scooter/crawler at 6 months, and by 7 months was cruising around like a pro. She did it all on her own. Same with sitting up - I never propped her up because the CDs looked like they were cutting off her stomach, but one day (just over 6 months) she sat up all on her own!

@MrsTiz: my good friend's baby hated it like yours. She never crawled, but scooted around on her bum. She's walking just fine today!

My LO doesn't hate tummy time, but I wouldn't be surprised if she crawls from sitting...maybe the same will be true for your LO. When we put her on her tummy she pushes up on her hands but then sorta just kicks her feet like she's trying to swim. But when she's sitting she'll rock back and forth, lean forward like she wants to crawl, etc.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think my LO spent maybe a few days army crawling before she started pulling up/cruising. Some LOs skip crawling altogether.

@mrsrain: haven't tried the knees, but I've tried the belly to belly thing a million times. He knows what I'm doing haha he's also never been a cuddler so I'm sure that doesn't help! I'll try the knees thing!

Xander hated tummy time until he could consistently roll around at 7+ months! And he didn't start crawling until 9+ months. So I think you're okay! Keep trying with tummy time, but don't worry about it too much. We would try to give Xander tummy time, but not daily and we wouldn't really force it if he was miserable.

I am not a mama yet (2 months to go!), but I have nannied for LO's in the past. Have you tried lying on your back with LO on your tummy facing you? The other thing I sometimes did was sit on the floor and put LO across my lap with some toys on the ground in front of her. Sometimes the being held aspect helped make tummy time more palatable

Can't believe he is going to be 6 months old already!

DS1 hated tummy time, and I never pushed it. He was a crazy roller at 3.5 months and started army crawling at 6.5 months. Full on crawling happened maybe a month later.

If your LO hated tummy time, not just was "meh" about it, but full on meltdown (please tell me I'm not alone) what has it affected, if anything?

LO HAAAAATES tummy time. Always has and it hasn't gotten better over the last 6 months. Most days we skip it all together because no amount of toys, boppys, whatever will make him like it for longer than 2 minutes.

He can roll front to back/ back to front but I'm worried about crawling. Since he won't do tummy time he hasn't made any crawling efforts at all. No knees up, trying to get to a toy. etc.

So long story short, am I messing him up? Did you skip tummy time and when did your LO crawl? Any advice?

He will be 6 months next week
