There are some that are even oven-safe, so you can make a casserole in it, stick it in the fridge or freezer, and then transfer it to the oven to bake and reheat leftovers in the microwave all in the same dish. Not all are, though (I got mine at the Container Store during one of their sales and I think all of the ones they sell are). They come in rectangular, square, and round and they nest nicely. The containers are glass, but the lids are plastic. We put them in the microwave and the dishwasher all the time.
