@Jennibenni: We used to have internet and cable. Our bill was around $100. With just internet its around $50-60.

We do Netflix and Hulu which both have a monthly fee. If you want HBO or any other higher services that will be additional fees. Figure $10/month per service.

So if you can get a triple play package from the cable company, they may be able to do cable, internet and phone for just over $100? Which basically may be the same price as what you would be paying for individual streaming services.

For us, since we didn't need/want a phone, they didn't really give us much incentives. If you go up to that triple service our company really gives you some deals.

@T.H.O.U.: I'm willing to drop cable and use something else for watching shows, I'm just not really sure of the options.

I think if you're looking to bundle all 3 (phone, tv and internet) you may get your best rate from the cable provider.

Up until about a week ago we just had AT&T for internet and used Playstation Vue (streaming cable like SlingTV). We also have a Netflix subscription.

We just switched out Playstation Vue for a cable/internet bundle with DIRECTV because the bundle was cheaper than what we were paying for just internet.

We were able to get just a landline/internet bundle, without cable. I think companies are starting to realize with all the options out there, we have choices!

I use amazon prime and Netflix to watch programming. I don't miss cable or network TV at all.

We just have Internet, and we use AT&T I-verse. We subscribe to Netflix and Hulu. We also have Amazon Prime. We will do Sling once the aports that we want to watch live come back on. Hulu is debuting some live-tv options this fall, and Sling is expanding what they have available, so I definitely think it's possible to ditch cable if you want!

We are moving soon and I'm trying to explore options for our tv/internet. We will also be adding a landline because our phone reception there can be spotty. We've just always done a tv/internet bundle from cable company but I feel like there are so many other options that I want to make sure that's the best choice for us. What do you have or use for tv and cable? How do you like it?

We don't do gaming, I don't watch a lot of tv but we want to have access to hbo and showtime and DH watches a fair amount of tv.
