DH's name is Theodore (he goes by Ted professionally, but I call him Theo when we're alone). I also really like Dallas! Theo and Dallas are way better than Dallas and Austin! The only thing I would worry about is when they're old enough to ask why you named them that, your DH will have all these elaborate reasons for naming one Dallas (he's had it picked for years, he loves the Cowboys, etc.) and when Theo asks all you'll be able to say is that you just liked the name. I know how competitive twins can be, so it's just something to think about. Dallas, to me, seems very different. I do think it would be a fabulous nickname. I think I would try to balance Theo with something in the same era/gravity. But the most important thing is that you love both names, and if you do then go for it! They are both named after family members that we wanted to honor so they are similar in that regard. They are Nicholas and Joseph. They go by Nick and Joe. One, we want to make sure we still like the names when they're here and two, we didn't want unsolicited opinions on the names we chose! </p> <p>Well, one name has always been a little known because DH has had it picked out for years. He is such a huge Cowboys fan that he has had this dream of naming a boy Dallas (I've unsuccessfully tried to get him to agree to that as a middle name ;). </p> <p>Another name that has stuck with us is Theodore, with Theo for short. </p> <p>Dallas and Theo. What do you think of these names together? We don't want them to be matchy-matchy since they're twins, but I'm wondering if they're too un-matchy! And I don't want to ask family or friends, since we're keeping the names a secret! </p>
