Do it! I have a bed in the nursery, it's a blessing, because my husband is a light sleeper, and when we were all bunking together, we all slept like crap!

We had a bassinet in our room, so I guess it's pretty much the same idea. Keeping the baby close to where you sleep.

I think it depends on your baby. Our baby girl actually does better in her own room. She's a light sleeper, so having other people around making noise isn't good for anybody.

The room that is going to be our nursery is currently our office. It has a twin-sized bed in it for guests, which also flips open into a full-sized bed. We really like the guest bed, so we're going to keep it in the baby's room. We figure it will be really useful for when the baby is being fussy and one of us needs to sleep in her room.

The room we plan to use is our current multipurpose room/makeshift guest room. It contains a futon, which I have no plans to get rid of when we eventually have a child :)

we have a full size in the spare bedroom that we'll convert to a baby room (unless we move).... i'll probably get rid of it to get a twin. my hubby is a light sleeper so we definitely need another bed.

We will be doing this with a twin. Mainly for easier sleep habits but also for guests!

I have a full sized futon in LO's room. She sleeps on it, and the first few weeks of her life I slept on it with her. :)

I saw a long time ago, a picture of a nursery with a twin bed in the same room. I think it's a great idea. Although, I don't have kids yet so I don't know how great of an idea this is.

I would think that it would be good to have a bed so DH can sleep in our bedroom without being bothered. Since he will have to get up to go to work. Or vice-versa, when the DH is taking care of the baby and I'm asleep in the bedroom.

I'm thinking a futon, twin size bed or a pull out couch will work. Also, since we live in a 2 bed apt, we could use that nursery as a spare bedroom (maybe?) for visitors.

Is this a good idea?
