Thanks ladies! Hubby is convinced my water will just break at some point since I'm not having many contractions these days - looks like that might be a possibility!

37 is average in Ireland and the uk, and my consultant said if nothing happened by 38 I'd be induced then. Babas saved me from that, water broke at 37/5. I had a section as babas didn't like the pitocin they gave me after the epidural to speed things up a bit.
Don't wish it away, you're getting a lot more sleep now than you will in a few weeks! My girls will be 7 weeks old Monday night and we are continually exhausted!

congrats on making it this far! I had my twins at 35 weeks. It was unexpected given that two days prior my cervix was high and closed, but my water broke. I had a c-section because my Dr. and I were to determine whether we'd have the baby vaginally or via c-section based on my appointment with our perinatologist which was the day the twins were born (never made it!). Additionally, my Dr. was out of town so the on-call Dr. felt more comfortable delivering them via c-section. All went smooth and the recovery from the c-section went surprisingly smooth as well.

good luck! :)

My mom had twins, and she went into labor at 38 weeks. She's a very small woman too. 5'1" and probably 105-110 before getting pregnant.

I had a c section at 37 weeks. My blood pressure went way up so they took me in 4 days before my scheduled appointment. I had to have one because my twins shared a placenta so vaginal delivery would have been very risky.

I'm 36 weeks with my fraternal twins and getting anxious to meet the babes! Dr. Luke's book says 35 weeks is average to deliver, and it seems like a lot of twin bloggers I follow delivered around then too. I'm so thankful to have made it this far without any complications, but am starting to feel like I'm going to be pregnant forever!

So twin mamas....at how many weeks did you deliver? were you induced or did labor start on it's own? did you have a c-section or vaginal birth?
