Yes to both.

My knees were loud and really hurt by the end.

The heart thing was scary. Started around 28 weeks for me.

@Penny Lane: I popped my back the other day and was in HEAVEN! I haven't been able to pop it like that in years!

I'm afraid I'm really going to jack up my knees if this keeps happening...

@Sugar.Biscuit: I just had one baby in there, but I felt short of breath very early. I don't really remember but what @Navy_Mommy said about increased blood volume sounds familiar :)

Yes to both! I worked a pretty physical job while pregnant and had to cut my hours way back because of how out of breath I felt during a shift.
It wasn't my knees, but my hips that bothered me. They would pop often and they felt like they were out of alignment.

Yes

Yes.

I'm right there with you! I can't climb up the stairs anymore without getting winded (I ran a half marathon in March!!!). And, in hindsight, my first sign that I was pregnant was how loose my joints felt and how my hips started to hurt for no reason.

@Sugar.Biscuit: I remember being short of breath and having a high heart rate very early in pregnancy (I'm not sure how far you are). My OB basically said "wow you're going to be miserable in the third trimester". Um, great. As it happened it got better and I was more comfortable for most of my pregnancy. Of course the same thing happened after the baby got big enough to press on my lungs, etc - but that's normal :)

I hope your Dr can give you some reassurance and that you feel better!

I do get out of breath quicker and notice an elevated heart rate after being active. The only part popping regularly are my elbows, which is normal.

I am way more out of breath than usual. DH and I took a short "hike" (in quotations because really it was a walk) and the slight incline had me breathing very heavy.

The shortness of breath is because you have so much more blood.

I would assume the knees are from the hormone that relaxes your joints so that your hips can spread.

definitely yes on the heart racing bit.

as far as the ligaments go, the only difference I noticed was that I was able to crack my back, wrists and knuckles easier. no knee cracking though!

@Sugar.Biscuit: Yes, and yes. Climbing the stairs to my office left me seriously winded/heart racing. Now, at 37 weeks, even standing up too quick leaves me short of breath. ANd as far as ligaments loosening, one of my knees has been giving me trouble - its like it wants to move the wrong way.

Number one: while you were pregnant was it normal for your heart rate to be elevated after doing basically nothing? When I went to the Dr. last week my BP was excellent. Recently I have feel like my heart is pounding & simple tasks such as climbing the stairs have my heart racing & me almost short of breath. I went to the gym today & before I even started working out my heart rate on the treadmill was 150!

Number Two: Did your ligaments and stuff stretching effect your knees too? My knees have been popping recently & this last time it felt like the ligament behind my knee popped 3 times. It took me down for the night but a few days later its much better but still bothering me. I can tell I did something to it but I don't think its anything serious?

I plan on calling my Dr. tomorrow but I wanted to hear what HB had to say.
