Another 2 year old mommy here to commiserate! My son was never a good sleeper, but starting around 18 months, he was STTN (hallelujah!) but then all of the sudden, the past month or so, his sleep went to crap. Like y'all, multiple wakings and if we ignore him, he'll just scream and cry until he coughs and we have to get him (otherwise he'll throw up).

I thought it might be his 2-year molars but it's been going on 2 months now. Can't be right?? Then he recently had a word explosion and his sleep slightly improved. He has a witching hour where he wakes up at like 12:30 and 2:30 on the dot and asks for milk?! WTF?! He refuses to calm down till we give him a cup, he'll sip for a min or so, hand it back, and lay back down to sleep like nothing happened.

He sleeps like a log and is out from 4am till when he wakes up though. No idea what's going on and I'd really like for him to be STTN again!!!

My two year old's sleep has also gotten worse recently. There are a number of contributing factors, I think, but I am pretty positive she is getting her two year molars. Seems to come and go with how much it's bothering her though. It's really frustrating because I'm tired!! One thing I've noticed is if we take a few minutes before we go in to her (usually because we play chicken over who will get up, then have to use the bathroom, etc) she will fall asleep again half the time. But I don't have any good answers since this is an ongoing problem here too.

Long post, looking for some help! My two year old had been sleeping through the night essentially for the last year, with maybe one night wakeup twice a month. For the last month or so her sleep has gone totally off track, sometimes with 4 night wakings. She'll have a stretch of a few days where she'll string full nights together but will return to the waking and it seems to be getting worse.

Can you sleep train a two year old again? We did CIO at around 15 months, which worked relatively easily for her. It doesn't seem to be working as well now but we haven't let her go a long time (15 mins+) or really committed to trying it.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience? Other things that might be relevant:

- She's probably teething, but seems to wake whether we given her meds or not
-we were away in July and I was tending to her more in the night, which may have sort of lined up with this sleep trouble
-when I go to her at night I pick her up and rock her for a few minutes, haven't tried just checking on her in the crib bc she goes ballistic
-could be nightmares? Sometimes she is hard to calm when I go in, but usually she's settles right when I pick her up
