My SO is a pharmacist: "most pharmacists would be glad to answer a question like this even if you don't fill prescriptions there, so if you have questions like that call one up and ask. Sometimes you might have to find the right pharmacist that has the time and the desire to help however." My SO agrees the dosing looks appropriate.

I would see if you can find one of these and mix a bit of milk with the meds. Our pediatrician didn't recommend mixing into a full bottle in the event they won't drink it all, then you don't know how much medicine they got. But we used this everyday for about 4 months with reflux meds.

https://www.amazon.com/Safety-1st-Hospitals-Medicine-Dispenser/dp/B002RJKH4G

eta: I know that's not really answering the question, but it's another means to try to get the meds in.

Also, if you want to try the syringe again, aim as far back in the cheek as possible and then blow in your DD's face to force her to swallow.

Does your doctor have an after hours number? I'd call before administering to get the right dosage.

@Mrs D: I wouldnt use them on an infant. I would force the liquid tylenol as mean as that sounds or better yet mix it in with yogurt or juice
My LO was given tylenol suppositories by her doctor after the age of 2 just as a back up after she had a fever related seizure. Her doctor told me to avoid using them unless I really had to.

@Mrs D: Where I live I would call Telehealth and get a doctors opinion from them first.... Does your insurance have an on call line, maybe call a pharmacist and ask them??

So...my 17w DD has herpangina...

Her fever has broke but I can tell she is in pain still from the sore in her mouth. I have tried unsuccessfully to give her tylenol orally (spits it out)...

My sister recommended the suppositories (I didnt know such a thing existed) - DH bought them but they say "for use in infants under 6 mos seek Dr counsel"...so my Dr office is closed. He gave me the dosage for tylenol for her weight...any reason I couldnt use them on her?

The dosage he gave me was 3ml of 160mg per 5ml....so basically he is recommending 95-ish mg....the suppositories are 80mg so I was just going to do one.

Anyone have an opinion here?
