LO was looking much better around 1am but now at 8, he's looking horrendous. I'm nervous to take him to daycare like that. Why do they clear up and then come back?? Does that mean he's being exposed again to whatever's causing this? We spent the better part of the day in bed yesterday because he was feeling pretty crummy but the hives were clearing up despite that. I'm allergic to most mainstream detergents now. I've had similar experiences with prednisone. I think prednisolone is more mild? Xander's been on that one a bunch (when his asthma is really bad, he goes on it). It's very safe! My kids have gotten hives before when they were sick and also seemingly out of blue. (he had been on the same ones before with no issue). I took him in and he was on steroids and allergy meds to bring them down, but I took him off the steroids after a day or two because of its other side effects. The hives went away after a few days. We gave him Zyrtec again (well, he gets Zyrtec every night anyway) and they didn't get better. This morning he was covered :( I got Benadryl on the way to work and gave him a dose but he seems miserable.
