@Smurfette: It's an in home, so not an option. We walk in the front door and all the kids would see it.

@lamariniere: Occasionally but our schedules are pretty different.

I'll message her and see what works best for her.

We've had times when we couldn't make daycare friend parties and still sent a gift (lego duplo set and book). I wrapped the gift but placed it in a brown paper bag (Trader Joes or Target) so that it's not so flashy and just asked the teacher to pass it along.. We've also just left gifts in the child's cubby.

We attend a large center and it's not uncommon for kids to have parties where not everyone is invited. It doesn't seem like a big deal (3-4 year olds) and they know some kids have/do certain things while others don't (as seen on weekly Share Day; some kids sign up for elective classes during "regular class" time during the week, etc).

Could you leave it with the director at day care? Tell the Mom to pick it up there?

Do you ever run into her before or after school drop off? You could just hand it to her then. We once had to cancel on a birthday party after RSVPing. I left the present in a plain bag in the kid's box at school.

@Mamaof2: that is an option, it would have to be after Christmas we have something every weekend (and we both work during the day) but I could message her mom and see if that would work!

I'd message Mom on Facebook and see if there is a day that you can swing by their house and drop the present off.

We were invited to a daycare friend's birthday party but it is the same day as a family Christmas. I want to still send a gift since this is DD's good friend but I know not all kids at daycare were invited to the party. What is the best way to get her the present without possibly making the other kids feel left out? We don't really have a relationship outside of daycare, but I do have her mom as a friend on FB.
