I started with an ameda Py and got almost no output, the opposite of what happened with my PISA so I'd rent one and try it at least you'd know for sure if that was the problem.

I would use the hands free bra to position the cooperating side, and then I'd do what you do with the non-cooperating side at the same time. It won't be hands free, but at least you'll get two done at the same time.

I EP also. I had a hard time double pumping in the beginning (I'm only 7 weeks in) so I understand how long it takes. No advice but just wanted to send you a hug!

Other than constantly readjusting during pumping, which you said you already do, are you using a lubricant so your skin doesn't rub against the flange so aggressively? I used EMAB's Natural Nipple Butter or Motherlove's Nipple Cream but I've also heard of people that use extra virgin olive oil. Put some on right before pumping and when you are done you can just wipe down like usual.

Has anyone else been unable to double pump because your nipples don't cooperate? My flat nipple will kind of drag downward along the side of the flange and ends up with blood blisters. I've tried different sized flanges (including Pumpin Pals). I've tried a hands-free bra to position it. I've used both a Lactina and an Ameda Purely Yours. Not only does it not pull on that one nipple correctly, but I just don't seem to get as much output when I double pump (contrary to what I've read I should expect!), so I don't really save that much time.

I exclusively pump, but I've gone back to just using my single Medela Swing. It takes forever. I feel backward. But I can't risk getting blisters again, and at least my output is pretty good. I guess something about single pumping while carefully positioning the flange / massaging my breast keeps everything where it should be, although I swear that I've tried to do that with a double pump but it just doesn't seem to work.

If there's some trick I haven't tried, I'd love to hear it. It's going to be a long road ahead. I keep wondering if maybe I should try a PISA, but I don't want to spend the money only to find out that I have the same problem.
