I just went to a wedding in regular spanx and a stretchy dress. I had a super cute bump instead of a lump (I'm 15 weeks)! Since I just wore them for a few hours, I didn't think it would be a problem. I was able to wear my regular sized spanx.

@SweetiePie: thanks! I like the look of these - might try to find a generic version of like @T.H.O.U.: suggested since the name brand is a bit pricey, but the higher waist cuts look optimal for this dress.

I saw this the other day but I've never owned them. Looks like spanx came out with a less squeeze-y line that still smooths.

@PinkElephant: I have a pair of generic shorts that I've been wearing while pregnant. They are a size up and more meant to be like a slip versus spanx but they fit great and just smooth but not tight.

@Smurfette: this was my thought originally - was posting in part to see if anyone has been told that normal Spanx while pregnant were a big no-no

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: ooh, sheer footless might work - good call.

Will probably wear something bc I can just imagine crouching down to help DDs and the slit in the dress shifting just right and....not good, not good! 😝

Wear sheer stockings in a size larger than what you would normally wear so you can tuck thr hose under your bra. Or no undies at all.

@Madison43: haha ok! I haven't seen them in person so no idea what the fabric is like. That might work! All I know is that I spent all day yesterday yanking up the maternity jeans I tried to wear to be comfy, so I was assuming I might not be quite ready for maternity sizes. 😝

@snowjewelz: I feel like they might create a lump above/below the waistband...maybe sizing up? Unfortunately the main pregnancy body changes I'm experiencing right now are a big chest, and a little fleshier than usual waist/rear, haha!

@PinkElephant: I don't think so. Like the fabric isn't baggy at all - it's just not restrictive so it can grow with you. I think it would just look like regular spanx of you had no bump. It also helps shape early bloat into more a bump so you look more like you're pregnant and less like you just ate a huge burrito.

@Smurfette: @Madison43: but would these work with virtually no bump? I figured I'd end up with excess fabric bunched under the dress. I'm a size two with very little bump (though I guess it could explode in the next two weeks...)

I'm less concerned about shaping, more about some kind of underwear substitute...the dress has a slit and I'll have to be squatting/bending to help my little girls - otherwise I'd just skip them entirely.

Definitely pregancy spanx - they are like regular spanx but the fabric in the belly area is not constricting at all.

I kind of can't believe I'm asking this in an online forum....but I need underwear help!

I'm Wearing a very fitted (but stretchy) dress to a wedding in a few weeks.. I'll be 17 wks pregnant and thus far don't have much of a bump (the fitted dress is an attempt to actually look pregnant and not just like I've put on weight). The fabric of the dress will show any line (I don't even think a Hanky Panky thong would really work), so I'm wondering if it is a terrible idea to wear Spanx? Or does anyone have another suggestion? Thanks in advance!
