DD had a stint like this a couple/few months ago. Our pedi wasn't overly concerned either as a virus was going around. After day 5 of the fever though, I demanded she been seen. They tested her for a UTI, which was negative, but that is one of the things they look at if a fever lasts multiple days. In the end, we put her on antibiotics and she got better fairly quickly.

So you know, we got a notice from our daycare that there is a fever virus going around. Lasts about 24 hours or so. Hope that's it!

@StbHisMrs: Yeah -- My daughter was acting pretty fine at the beginning of it. Then she definitely got more sad and grumpy as the fever peaked...

@skibobrown: It's so strange! We took her brother to a friends house for a sleepover, she played for quite some, I hope we didn't spread this to them :(

Our daughter caught a similar sounding virus last week. She had a 102 and higher fever for 2 full days. She didn't really have any other symptoms. Other people I know near us have also had this virus, and it has lasted a bit longer for some. I hope your daughter feels better soon!!

@autumn865: Oh my I hope it doesn't last 3 days! I'm glad your lo is feeling better.

I gave her a dose of Tylenol this morning, and she didn't have a fever at all until 5:45 when it went back up to 103. She isn't eating much, but she's drinking water and milk like normal, she's a finicky eater to begin with. She's currently napping on the couch, but missed her normal nap earlier today.

We went through a fever the other week with DD (9 months). The pedi didn't seem worried when I called several times and said the would see her if 1) the fever was over 104 or 2) lasted more then 5 days. They told me to give her Tylenol only and then for her congestion to use a cool humidifier. Her temp went up to 103 but always responded to the Tylenol. I hope this helps! Just snuggle up with your LO and I'm sure it will pass quickly :) our fever lasted about 3 days and then she was feeling better.

@StbHisMrs: we had problems with the forehead being very inaccurate but our ear thermometer has been right on...is not tolerating the ear thermometer normal for her? If it's not then I would wider about an ear infection. I hope she feels better soon!

@aprk: she's 20 months old. I'm not sure if I'm getting an accurate reading, we have a forehead scanner and ear thermometer. She won't tolerate the ear thermometer, the forehead scanner says 100 at 3am.

How old is M? I hope she is feeling better. I am personally wary of fevers but I know it means the body is fighting off something and that's *good*. Personally if it stays high for much longer I'd probably call the after hours line or go to urgent care.

She's sound asleep, no whining, wimpering, or complaining but it's shot up to 103.3. Advil at 7:40, and I just gave her Tylenol at 11:40. I've set alarms to check every 3 hours, but I doubt I'll get any sleep..

I picked M up from the sitter today and she seemed fine, went to Grandma's and played on her swing, just fine. I started dinner at home and went looking for her, it was quiet! She was half passed out on her sisters bed, and burning up! I took her temp and it was 102.3. I gave her some motrin, she laid on the couch for about 10 minutes then was up and running like normal. The only thing I've noticed is her 2 bottom eye teeth, and her gums are really red and sore looking around them.

I am not sure what's causing this, and it's making me a little stressed.

Gave her a bath, a little warmer than luke warm, mistake. Now her fever is back to 99.3 and she's sleeping on the couch. I think I'll stay out here with her and keep an eye on her.
