I was asking my doc about insomnia yesterday, and she confirmed that Unisom, Benadryl and even Tylenol PM are ok. Haven't tried any yet, but I think I'm going to give Unisom a shot.

I don't see a problem with it at all. I was on Diclegis (unisom + B6) and it's considered extremely safe. But I would warn you to only take it when really needed, because otherwise you get immune to the effects.

Yup I took it for all of my pregnancies and taking it right now too. I'm an insomniac during pregnancy and this is so helpful.

@alphagam84: @T.H.O.U.: Ok, thanks. I think I am, I just need to get over feeling weird about it. I think I"ll be a better wife/mom in the coming weeks if I do!

I took an entire Unisom pill each night just for insomnia. Worked great and was the only way I could sleep! Just take it, it won't hurt the baby.

I know a lot of people have taken Unisom or Unisom with B6 for nausea at the beginning of their pregnancy. Well, I have struggled with exhaustion/insomnia for weeks but it has ramped up now that I"m in my 3rd tri. I had my OB checkin yesterday and she mentioned taking a half a Unisom--it won't necessarily stop me from waking, but will help me go back to sleep when I do.

Anyway, I hate to take meds when I'm pregnant/nursing so did anyone out there find a 1/2 unisom worth it for their insomnia?
