It's not like you called with a "scared pregnant mom" question, but you were actually in the hospital.... I know you're all right, but it's hard to see reason through the frustration some times. I'm usually pretty good about being rational and realizing my situation isn't really a high priority. They all only do the minimum required to get or give info. And it's not like I have bad doctors either, some of them are amazing. I get it on how you are feeling. But, at the same time, you are doing well for the most part. The baby isn't in any danger. They may not feel it to be an urgent situation.<br /> If you weren't so far along I'd say maybe shop around for another OB. I just scheduled follow up for the day after I was discharged from the ed. I just found it easier to work within the system the way it works best. Unfortunately mds don't get reimbursed for making follow up calls. I wouldn't want to switch doctors when you're so far along because you never know if you like that doctor either, and it's so important to have a doctor that you can trust when you deliver. Honestly I would just stay with them because you know that you like the doctor, it's just the office that has an issue calling you back. I don't feel like I'm a priority to my doctor outside of appointment times. At appointments I don't feel like a burden at all and my doctor happily answers any questions I have and is very friendly. But, when I call into the office (which is hardly ever) I never seem to get a same day response. </p> <p>It started before i was even pregnant when it took me nearly three weeks of constant calls to get PCOS blood test results. But we got pregnant shortly after that and I figured as one of the pregnant ladies i would be a higher priority. I haven't had to really call in at all during the pregnancy, but I was dreading when the time would come, knowing that it may be difficult to get a response. </p> <p>Now we're at today. I'm 30 weeks and was in the hospital yesterday for some extreme abdominal pain that they say may have been a kidney stone. I had large amounts of blood in my urine, but they didn't think there was an infection. The pain has subsided, but not gone away and since baby was fine they sent me home and said they would fill my doctor in on what happened. Now it's 3PM and I've yet to hear from my own doctor. I expected a check-up call this morning to see how I was doing, but nothing. I called at 11AM and left a message with her nurse saying I was in triage yesterday and I am still in pain today and I wanted to talk to the Dr. and still nothing. The office is right across the street from where I work and DH says i should just walk over there (which is actually how I finally got my PCOS blood-test results). I don't want to do that though, I know the doctor isn't there. She only has clinic on thursdays and fridays and her actual office is actually in the building I work in. I get it, I'm not dying, the baby is doing fine... but I was in the hospital yesterday!</p> <p>I feel ignored, and I need to know if I'm over-reacting. In my current state of frustration I'm almost at the point where I want to just completely find a new doctor, but honestly I'd hate to have to add all that stress this late in the game. What do you guys think I should do? </p>
