Just because you are being induced does not mean you're going to need a c-section. I consider myself as being practically "induced" and I didn't need a c-section. My water broke naturally, but other than that, it was like an induction. I was hardly having contractions on my own and was only dilated at 2cm on arrival to the hospital, was started on pitocin at 1, and gave birth at 10. Everyone has their own opinion as to what works!</p> <p>Well, today I got a call from my SIL (who has never had a child) and she told me that she "was talking with an older lady" (is this supposd to be her medical accreditation?) who said that since I have high blood pressure, they are just going to end up giving me a C-section when I get induced, and that if I don't drink castor oil to go into labor naturally, I will end up with a C-section.<br /> Once I said to my SIL that I really didn't want to give myself explosive diarrhea she said "well, do you want explosive diarrhea and a natural birth or a C-section? It's up to you."<br /> Who the hell does this chick think she is? She has no idea what she is talking about....and why would you even say that to someone 1 day before their induction? to freak them out?</p> <p>Man, I was so upset. It is just crazy to me that people think they are qualified to give advice. I am sure the same is true for parents of LOs....people often have a lot to say about the way you parent.</p> <p>How do you deal? </p>
