We learned this the hard way last year with a 12 month-old. He kinda unwrapped the gifts, then had zero patience for us removing the packaging. Since then, we have learned to set it up as much as possible ahead of time (batteries too!) so he can start playing right away. I am also planning to put away his other toys so that he only sees his new ones. We didn't get him a lot so I am hoping this won't take a long time! </p>
