Saying they would've aborted because "everyone wants a healthy son" is sure to enrage a lot of the public. And then that the surrogate kept the boy because boys are prized in Asia? Really? The woman already has her own children! This surrogate is just going to get more support from all this!</p> <p>What really got me was when he was asked about the risk of him sexually assaulting his daughter, he said "I CANNOT do it again". Not "I WILL NOT". Maybe it's a dialect thing, but I didn't like that at all! I have no idea why they wouldn't have. And from their own story they said they were happy with the idea she would keep him because they didn't want him. </p> <p>Not only that but they didn't want to pay her for surrogacy because he had down syndrome and 'find a solution' since she wouldn't abort him. It's not like they said I'm not sure we can handle a baby with downs, they went crazy about it. I can see how the surrogate would feel like she could be endangering the baby or putting him in an extremely unloving and unfortunate position if she handed him over. I think what happened is that they made it clear they didn't want their son, so the surrogate said she would take the child, child was born and parents started to change their minds but the surrogate insisted she keep the baby. All of their reasons for having to leave the country would seem legit but they also never tried to get him back. I think they feel "called out" and came up with this story of being threatened by the surrogate. That is so hard to believe.
