The kids play in our room all the time and we've never had an issue with the bed getting damaged. I'm not even sure what people are saying would happen to it? It's still in great shape and I don't think DS ever touches is. It's several years old and still looks brand new.</p> <p>I will say, we've wiped it down several times. We are clean and tidy, but no way am I willing to lint rolll the headboard on a regular basis. I also thought that the nap of the fabric would be easy to crush with even the slightest cleaning, so one stain from hand cream, a sick kid, etc., and it'd be spoiled. Dh would lean his head against the headboard to read and it left a yellowing mark from hair oils and rubbing. Our son sometimes sleeps in our bed but otherwise doesn't spend any time in our room which helps. We don't eat or drink in our room either.
