I'm glad to see that those of you who have front loaders have figured out a way to make it work. I was really confused as to why this gal was having so many problems. Pretty sure it was that she just didn't want to take that extra step to soak them in the tub.

HE Front loader here. Cloth diapering for 12 months and no issues with the front loader. We soak in the bathtub if we need to.

Top loader all the way, I HATE front loaders. They're awkward and IMO they break a lot more easily. I'm waiting for our old washer to die so I can replace it with one of the spiffy new top loaders that have a teeny agitator and water level sensors that optimize it for the clothing load. Best of both worlds!

I haven't started washing diapers yet, but I have heard many people say that poo collects under the rubber seal around the door of front-loaders, in addition to the trouble with soaking and getting enough water into the machine. It can be done if that's what you've got, but given the choice I would not buy one knowing I'd be using it for diapers. (Plus my general bias against them, haha.)

I have an HE front loader which is kind of a PITA but I figured out a wash routine that works for us! Now its no big deal at all. You can always soak in the tub if need be!

I was told its harder to use cloth diapers when you have a front loading wash machine vs. using and upright. She said its harder to soak if you need to soak them. I could see how that could be a problem but it wouldn't keep me from not using cloth diapers. We have a big sink in the laundry room we could use to soak if we had to.

Have you found any challenges when it comes to using cloth diapers & the machine you've used for washing?
