Thanks for the tips everyone! We found out our furnace is about to die so our plans are getting bumped down a little. We're thinking of a long weekend trip to Nashville now!

Mostly I just want to stay in a hotel, sleep in, and eat good food so I don't mind our beach vacation plans getting scrapped for now. Makes my worry wart husband feel even better that we'd be driving distance away.

I really wanted to go to New Orleans but it did not happen. We went to a hot springs resort though which felt divine to just float when I was 35 weeks pregnant!

@dc yoga bee: I told my husband I want to go on a babymoon to Old Town. I was there for a wedding in October, but didn't really get to explore. We only live 1.5-2 hrs away, so it would be an easy trip. NYC is fun too. We've taken the MegaBus there and had a great time. I've never left LO though, so I have to get up the courage before this baby arrives!

We went to Key West on vacation, and I didn't like the beach at all! I'd suggest Ft. Lauderdale, DC suburbs (quaint towns like Old Town Alexandria are great to explore with great dining options), NYC <--probably where we are going for a babymoon if I ever get over morning sickness. San Francisco is awesome!

@78h2o: I just picked up every weekend between now and the end of December and I'm on service for most of January.

I may be able to go to California for 48 hours at the end of January, but it will be solo. There's just no time!

Our friends have offered to babysit the girls for free one night, so we're hoping to use a gift certificate and have a slow leisurely dinner.

That would be enough for me. Hopefully my parents will be able to come and stay during the birth so we can be at the hospital together :)

Key West is really nice! We did Kauai, and absolutely loved it. Super relaxing and romantic. I used to work near Santa Monica, so my idea of it is probably somewhat skewed, but it can get pretty crowded, parking and driving is chaotic. So unless you stayed within walking distance of everything, a car and driving would be necessary.

We went to Monterey/Carmel, CA for our babymoon. It was beautiful!

@Mrs. Jacks: Could your parents or in-laws watch the kids for a weekend? Even if you didn't spend an extra dime, it would be nice to have some time to yourselves, if at all possible. I remember you saying you might pick up extra shifts though, so maybe that isn't an option.

We're not going on a babymoon, but we went to Puerto Rico last year (no passport or currency exchange necessary! I didn't know that! Haha...) and it was like going to a different country without going to a different country. It was beautiful and fun and delicious, and we loved it!

Vegas is really nice that time of year. We went in May for my 30th and it was a little hot. No beach but it's cheap and the pools are gorgeous and there is tons to do.

WE just went to Kansas City (close drive) but if we wanted something relaxing we would probably do Key West or San Francisco. If we were to go on one this time we would have chose NYC and Chicago if we were driving, pretty at Christmas (not really in a beach mood)

Ok bees, hit me with your best babymoon ideas!

My husband and I are TTC now and also simultaneously planning a trip for April. It'll be our first vacation without our toddler. So it may be just a fun vacation, or it may be a babymoon!

My husband is a huge worry wart, so he'd feel better if we booked somewhere within the continental US in case I'm pregnant. That restriction leaves a lot of places available so it's OK with me.

My goal will be to just relax. I'm thinking somewhere beachy, but also with things to do besides just lay out on the beach. We're thinking maybe Key West? Or Santa Monica?

Did you take a babymoon? If you did, where did you go?
