If you get new tubing and parts, and feel comfortable with it, go for it. My PIS is an older model but I haven't had any trouble with condensation in the tubing for the PIS. Moisture from the tubing would corrode the motor before you would really have to worry about disease transmission anyways. Some double electric pumps are closed system, like hygeia and ameda, but medela pumps are all open system. That means that particles could get into the motor and it could transmit diseases to a second user. </p> <p>Ultimately it is much less risky to use a pump from someone you know, but there is still a slim possibility that it could transmit something that she/you are unaware of.
