@kiddosc: we did remove the head and body insert. I'll check out tomorrow where the indicator is located.

@adira: Thanks for that link! I had seen it earlier, but I was hoping for a little more info. maybe I'm overthinking it all.

@Happygal: Where is the indicator now? Is it all the way to the left? If the indicator shows that it's fully reclined, you couldn't use a pool noodle anyway, since it would put the recline out of spec.

Maybe a stupid question, but did you remove the head pillow? That might be pushing her head forward.

@Happygal: I would read your manual to determine if you can use a pool manual, but other Graco seats don't allow it, so I'm skeptical that you can with this one. But here's some info on how to do it if it's allowed:

@kiddosc: we use the indicator, but she still looks more slumped forward than I think she should be. I read in different sites that an Equinox has a pretty sloped back seat and can require a noodle. I just can't figure out exactly how to determine if this is true.

We do have a certified tech somewhere in town--maybe I need to set a time to have a pro help me out!

She used to be such a good passenger, but that stopped with her convertible seat. I'm hoping we can get things comfy for her so she'll be easy to tote along again!

@Happygal: What does the level indicator look like? Since the 4ever has three recline options while rear facing, I would doubt you would need a pool noodle, and you'll want to make sure that you don't recline too much. I found this picture that shows the level indicator in the most reclined position (bubble all the way to the left), but the bubble just needs to be somewhere on the blue line to be in spec.

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on determining when and how you need to use a pool noodle with a rear facing car seat? I think we need one for our Graco 4Ever in a Chevy Equinox simply judging from how she looks in it.
