Seems like a bad idea to me. The seats would get gross, more stuff to lug around, and money you don't need to spend. Restaurant high chairs work just fine!

Yea once a baby starts feeding themselves its a CRAZY mess of smeared on food. Not just crumbs that wipe off.

Even the rain cover we have hardly ever used for our stroller. I guess we cancel outdoor plans if its going to rain or if we do get caught we usually have a blanket or towel we can throw over her.

@kodybear: You can wash the seats on the city select. Though, watching this video, it's not something you can do in less than a minute.

The clean up factor alone would make me say 'No'. We have the City Select and those seats get grody as it is, can't imagine having my kids eat all their meals in it as well! Totally agree that hard surfaces are best for baby and toddlers seats. We have the Stokkes (got used on CL) and I am very happy with them.

no i have the city select and i wouldn't... the seats would get gross fast and i don't think you can take the cover off to wash it. i learned the hard way but solid surfaces are the way to go for high chairs/booster chairs (like plastic, wood). we had the oxosprout, and those cushions got nasty so fast! if milk spilled on them it was hard to get out and eventually smelled. that was a terrible investment! we use the fisher price booster now, and its soo much easier to clean, and 10% of the price of the oxosprout!!

@bluestriped bee: keep in mind in a couple months you'll also have a pair of legs in that basket. in my basket now I have a rain cover, a spare pack of wipes, an umbrella, an ergo, a first aid kit, a lunch bag with kid snacks, and a wheelboard for DD1. Diaper bag goes on the handle.

I guess with amazon you could see if you can fit it all. Just seems like a lot of uneccesary stuff to carry around when kids already come with a ton of crap.

ETA: didn't wash the seats on the select but I've done it on the four other strollers that have rotated through my house and it's always a pain.

@bluestriped bee: sounds like more trouble than its worth. With three my basket is already pretty full, adding two sets of extra seat fabric and two high chair frames would mean leaving my diaper bag at home.

@oliviaoblivia: I wouldn't carry the whole seat frame. It's just the seat fabric. It folds flat like a mat. I would only take it if I was out all day and wouldn't have access to my car. Like a trip to Baltimore or NYC. Though, with twins, we are already carrying enough stuff.

Oh, the hychair attachments is just parts I would carry with me. It comes in a bag and I would just carry it underneath in the basket below. It guess it would be similar to carrying the parts for the car seat adapters.

Darn I accidentally clicked away from my post. What I was gonna say, was, I think that its a cool idea! We bought the inglesina fast chair to use out and about, but honestly we just use restaurant high chairs now. They are gross and often the belt is broken. Now we actually use our inglesina at home. I can also see how it would work in a booth. Especially with two high chairs, you need a special table to make it work either way. Also maybe for when you go to a friend or families house for dinner? A little expensive for all that.

So the BBB reviews are bad but Amazon's reviews are surprisingly very good. Apparently, some users use this for in booth seating. Instead of attaching it to the end of the table (in the aisle), attach it to the middle of the table where adults would sit. It's apparently nice if it's a restaurant that is too tight for high chairs to fit in the aisle.

http://www.amazon.com/ss/customer-reviews/B004TYOJNW/ref=acr_search_see_all?ie=UTF8

As for the potential for dirty seats after eating, I do have spare seats that I could swap out since I bought new seat fabric to replace the ones my brother had when he gave me his stroller.

I vote against it too. We have a lobster chair we bring sometimes but it gets super gross very fast and you can't use it on a lot of tables- they need to have four legs, not a pedestal to be sturdy enough most of the time plus no lip underneath. I had thought about this one since I thought it would be nice walking around our community but all but one restaurant we frequent has high chairs.

I do occasionally wheel the whole stroller (city select) up to the table though, especially with outdoor seating. That works really nicely with a lot of tables!

@catlady: @HazelEyes: Oh, this wouldn't be for use at home. It would be when we were out. Yeah, I would think it could get messy but the seats are washable. Though, if I went to a restaurant and one of the twins got messy, they would have to sit in the seat until we got to the car. Eww. Hmm, yeah, maybe the regular restaurant high chairs are just fine. Thanks for helping me think this through!

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, I was wondering if the high chairs that restaurants have would be fine, but I wasn't sure if it was close enough. Yeah, I was also thinking that the table has to be sturdy enough to hold a baby like that.

I don't know that it would super useful. We have one of those lobster high chairs that clamp to the table, and we used to bring it all the time and it never worked on any tables except picnic tables. The clamping mechanism is a little different than the one for the City Select, so it's possible it could be more useful. But 99% of the places we go have high chairs and it's not an issue.

I don't have one either, but I agree with @catlady: that the seat will just get gross. And do you want to be snapping that back and forth? I would get a cheap high chair without a lot of crevices to continually clean!

I don't have a city select, but my UB vista is similar enough that I feel like I can answer. And no, not really. We have a hook on chair that can be used at restaurants and fairly often then cannot be used because of the table type (cannot use those with a pedestal table, glass or wire (many outdoor tables), and too thick of a lip. Most places we go have high chairs anyway. And the stroller seat would take up a lot of space in a crowded restaurant.

It's a neat idea but I wouldn't bother.

That said- I could see it being more beneficial with twins! If no high chair was available I've held my LO to eat- won't work if you are alone with two. Or I've been to small places that only have one chair. I just think I'd rather buy a regular hook on chair like the lobster one, which would take up less space anyway.

I don't have a city select anymore, but when I did, I wouldn't have used this. I feel like the seat would just get really gross. You could make the argument that it might be nice if you are out at a restaurant, but our select was so big and bulky that we never brought it to one.

If you have a city select stroller, would this be beneficial to have?

It's an attachment that allows you to use your city select seat as a high chair that attaches to the table.

http://www.buybuybaby.com/store/product/baby-jogger-reg-city-select-reg-hychair-in-red/1040307466?brandId=440

Just curious if this is a good idea.

Unfortunately, I don't think it's part of the 20% manufacturers sale that is going on.
