It's my dad's name, and my father-in-law's middle name, and my brother-in-law's first name. It's a great way to honor both sides of the family, plus I've just always loved the name Michael. No pressure from anyone, but it made the whole family happy (all of our nephews have a family name as either a first or middle name). In our case, we did both: LO is Evan Charles, DH's middle name, FIL's middle name, and his paternal grandmother's maiden name is Evans, and MIL's maiden name is Charles. They both sounded good with the first names we had chosen and it makes my in-laws happy.
