We did the 3 day method at 20 months and she caught on so quickly...we had a month pretty much accident free, I was amazed it was as easy as that. then last week she had a major regression out of nowhere

We are back to part way trained...she goes in the potty fine when she's at home but if we are out and about I put her in a pull-up...lots of accidents at daycare last week (I think she's having too much fun to tell them when she needs to go) so I might put her in pull-ups for daycare. She only has 2 weeks left then she's home with me for the summer so I will try again to retrain her then.

Good luck!!

We are at 22 months as well and she does pretty good with telling us when she has to go, but sometimes it doesn't happen or she will walk away from the potty and pee or poop on the floor. Practicing patience when that happens is really the thing I've been working on. We keep her in pull ups and then when she's done try to get her to take them on and off and put the diaper in the trash.
We have training pants and I think I might just need to pull the trigger soon and put her in those all day and see how things go!
Diaper Free before 3, is a book that's was recommend by her teacher for potty training!
Good luck!

I think seize the opportunity. It's hard to make an uninterested child go. We do lots of praise and sometimes rewards, and asking regularly.

We let her pick out big girl panties and pull ups. Then we just put her in panties at home and pull ups when we are out and day care. Just take her every 30-60 mins. We are a week in and she just pooped for that first time this morning in the potty. She also is recognizing when she has to go. At first stickers and rewards helped but now she just goes and is fine with out it. I think now I am going to make a new a chart. A sticker for each accident free day. Yesterday the pull up was dry all day, only pooped in it, and we were gone most of the day.

We have been doing elimination communication for DDs whole life so she's always kind of known that's where pee and poo goes. It's meant that we are pretty proactive about watching her cues and when we have the energy, we sit her on the potty.

Now, at 16 mo, if she's within 2-3 feet of the potty when she's got to go, and is not wearing pants she'll usually sit down and go. I figure in the next couple of months she'll only get more proactive about it.

Three or four times over the last few days, K has asked to go pee, then peed or pooped on the toilet!
She's 22 months, and we weren't planning on potty training yet.
However, I feel like we should seize this opportunity. How did you potty train? Where do we start?!
