@LibbyLou: When my doctor was giving me the statistics on live birth rates with this anomaly it kind scared the crap out of me (and this was after my successful pregnancy). It is hard to pinpoint if it's a cause for miscarriage in the first-trimester. I also spoke with a high-risk doctor before we decided to try for number 2, and it was honestly a rather encouraging discussion. I know my body can carry a successful pregnancy. It's just scary going forward, especially with this recent (as in right now) loss (again being early and not knowing the reason). And too late on the NOT googling, haha. Googled like crazy when I first found out I had it, but it was kind of hard to get first hand experience on it.

me! me! me! I just posted about this last week. Mine was just discovered at an HSG. We are still TTC so I'm no help to you.

My doctor has said there should be no issues with getting pregnant. (We discovered I'm not Ovulating hence the long TTC period.) I am getting an MRI on the 30th to see the severity of the bicornuate. The nurse who I spoke with said that will give them a plan for pregnancy. She said worst case would be they would induce me around 32 weeks.
My DH cousin is a nurse at another OB practice and she said they have a few of us oddballs. She said we may have a higher chance for miscarriage but since there can be so many factors it's hard to pinpoint it. She did reassure me about 2nd trimester miscarriages (do NOT google) said it's extremely rare. My OB backed that statement up as well.

We can definitely stay in touch, I'm over on the POAS thread as well. Welcome to the hive!
xx

I don't know for sure but I was told by a specialist during an ultrasound that I have a slightly heart shaped uterus. both of my kiddos have been breech through their entire pregnancy and never flipped...so we think that is probably Whh. I had one early loss (chemical pregnancy) in between my two babies but I don't have any reason to believe it was related. I'm sorry for what you are going through. <3

@Anya: Thanks. Yeah, it's a really rare anomaly so it's hard to find people with the same thing.

So sorry to hear about your losses. I don't have any personal experience with a uterine anomaly but I know there are others in here who do.

@nicollette1189 I believe also has a unicornate uterus and just gave birth to her son in February.

Anyone else here have a uterine anomaly? I have a unicornuate uterus, discovered during the c-section with my daughter and followed up with an HSG. If you do have one, has it affected your TTC attempts or your pregnancy? Prior to my pregnancy with my almost 2-year-old daughter, I had an early miscarriage (naturally) at around 6 weeks. No idea if this had any relation to my anomaly, which I didn’t even know about then. Got pregnant with my daughter not too long after. Didn’t know about the anomaly during the entire pregnancy. Had a c-section at 39 weeks because she was breech. We’ve been TTC number 2 for 5 months and I’m currently going through a likely ectopic but certainly abnormal pregnancy right now (today would be 7 weeks). Just got the methotrexate shot 2 days ago. Again, don’t really know if this had anything to do with my anomaly, though chances of ectopic are slightly higher. I’m nervous about trying again…
Glad to be joining this community! It seems really supportive and lurking has certainly helped me as a new mom and on our journey for a second.
