I would call just in case. I had an asymptomatic UTI outside of pregnancy and found out after a routine doctor's visit!

I started to think I had a UTI but turns out I was just dehydrated. I drank a ton of water and took cranberry pills and the symptoms went away. It's hard 'cause with pregnancy weird pain and peeing a lot is normal. I would up your water intake and call your doctor as well.

I would call just in case. You don't want it to lead to a kidney infection! I had a UTI (not during pregnancy) and didn't know it that led to a kidney infection. It was a horrible experience.

@Applesandbananas: I had a UTI early in my pregnancy, I was 6 or 7 weeks (I think? lol) and my symptoms were exactly like a UTI outside of pregnancy. But, I know that's not always the case. I'd call your doctor just to check!

I had a UTI in the early weeks but only found out through a urine test (I think?) - the midwife called me to tell me that because there are no symptoms of UTI in pregnancy it's often missed. So I went on antibiotics in the first tri which was unexpected but was all good in the end. It was weird not feeling the typical sensations of needing to pee etc. I would not have known had I not done the test. I can only remember it being blood tests at that time, but must hVe been a urine test to pick this up!

Hope you get yours sorted if that's what it is!

Were your UTI symptoms different during pregnancy?

I've had this burning feeling in my lower abdomen on and off, it's not painful, just there sometimes. At first, I was chalking it up to weird cramps, things stretching, etc. (6w) but I decided to google and a lot of people said they'd been diagnosed with a UTI with that symptom, through the routine UTI test their doctor does at each visit.

Outside of pregnancy, a UTI has always felt to me like a constantly urge to pee, but not being able to, or not being able to enough, but that hasn't been an issue. There's frequently an urge, but I chalked that up to first tri symptoms. I've been really thirsty too, which I also chalked up to first tri.

Any insight? My first appt isn't until 2/5 and the only real symptom is that on and off burning (noticeable but not painful) feeling and frequent urge to pee.
