We went in February last time, so I am of no help when it comes to clothes! I thought the Blue Lagoon was really cool despite it being a tourist trap, so it's still worth it to me! We used Reykjavik as our base and did day trips out from there, which worked really well. It's also a pretty neat city, so it's worth planning at least a day for exploring there. If you can, do an airbnb or something like that because food is REALLY expensive there (since there is so much land that is covered by glacier/volcano, the land isn't great for growing), so you can save some money by eating breakfast at home and packing a lunch for the day. I love the Morocco idea (we did Marrakech, Fez and Tangiers in 10 days), but I wouldn't go there over the summer, too hot. Portugal is fantastic as a few people have mentioned (we've been to Lisbon and just recently Porto, two great places). Spain is also wonderful if you haven't been - Madrid/Seville is great for a week, or a week in Barcelona would be lots of fun. We spent 3 days in Lisbon and then rented a car and drove to Lagos for another 3 days, stopping off on our way in Sintra. It was a great trip! (My husband and I also got engaged on that vacation so I remember it fondly).
