It was the sickest I've ever been, and I was afraid I'd loose the baby (17 weeks, and massive dehydration, ended up hospitalized). My husband got the flu shot, and I totally would have, if circumstances would have been different. </p> <p>I got the tDap a few weeks before I delivered. I really did all I could to avoid any class B drugs and would only consider a class C if my or my baby's immediate life was in danger.... If we start TTC during flu season, I'll be getting the flu shot (but I have to anyways being high risk) and try really, really hard to get DH to get it. If we have a winter baby, I'm going to throw down and make him get it, especially by that point, he will be working as a nurse. I'm definitely getting the flu shot (LO will be born in December.) I'm planning to ask my parents to make sure they're up to date before they come to visit, and to limit LO's contact with most people until after the first round of vaccines. I'm 38+3 and had my TDAP during pregnancy a few weeks/months ago, as is standard in my practice. DH came with me today to get his. They offered him the flu shot but he declined- he's never gotten the shot OR the flu. I work for a hospital and it is mandatory for me to get the flu shot so I will be doing that within the next few weeks. I have asthma, so it's generally really important for me to get the flu shot, since it could put me in the hospital. When my pulmonologist told me I needed to get it every year, I was like "oh I've never gotten the flu" and he said most people only get it once or twice in their entire lives. I'd rather not have it the year I'm pregnant, other years I'm more willing to take the risk.
