DS will get a card and a small paw patrol thing I saw yesterday at Target :)

DH and I always do cards, and usually some candy, but he’s on a low-carb thing so I might skip that this year. He usually gets flowers for me, and we just did date night last night and called it valentines.

I am getting something like this star map and a card for DH, and he's getting me flowers and earrings. We are going to get dinner to go and eaten molten lava cakes from the grocery store. DS is going to my MIL's because he is always her Valentine. He will bring her flowers. DS has his shirt from last year to wear and DD has an outfit with hearts.

We don’t do much. DH and I don’t do anything for each other. I will get the boys each a stuffed animal and I’ll probably pick up some candies for everyone to share.

@erinbaderin: We have both the large and small Plus Plus! My 5 and 4 year old have been playing with them continuously for the past two years! We love them. I keep them in a small bag and bring them to restaurants, on trips, basically anywhere you have to wait.

We don’t do too much for Valentine’s Day. The kids love making cards for classmates. We’ll probably give them each a Kinder egg and a balloon. If I’m ambitious, we’ll do heart shaped pancakes for breakfast. DH and I exchange cards.

We are not a big V-Day house. We might make something special for dinner for the boys (I like the idea of heart shaped pancakes) but other wise not much else. DH and I use it as an excuse to make a fancy dinner but otherwise gift giving is neither of our love languages so we don't see the point.

Just some candy I think. My husband and I have a $20 challenge for holidays and birthdays because soon my paychecks will end 😬. And my son is obsessed with anything sweet so a box of gummy hearts will suit him!

My daughter's bday is 2 days after V-day and my son's is 2 weeks before soooo we won't be doing presents but I am all for traditions!

And, I'm totally a gift-giver so normally I'd be down for it, but yeah.

Growing up, my parents usually did a V-day basket similar to Easter.

Valentine's day isn't too big in our house - it's really just an excuse for me to overuse my heart cookie cutter, but my kids really love it. They'll get heart shaped pancakes for breakfast, heart shaped sandwiches and snacks for lunch, heart shaped rice with their favorite chicken and broccoli for dinner, and a chocolate Vday donut from Dunkin for dessert. I bought them each a balloon and a small chocolate. They'll exchange valentines at school as well. Me and DH just use this holiday as an excuse to order from our favorite expensive sushi place.

We don't do Valentine's day. I think it's a rather terrible contrived "holiday". We try and show love to each other all the time instead.

I'm kinda peeved that my daughter's preschool does a card exchange because we basically have to participate. Can't tell my 3 year old that she didn't bring cards because Valentine's is made up

DH will get some sort of beerquet similar to the below photo, and a box of little debbie heart cakes.
Last year I did a bottle of Jack and redesigned/printed the label so that it said 'love potion'.

Kids will probably just get a heart cake and a valentine balloon, maybe a sucker since that is their fav. candy.

We don't do much for Valentines day. DH and I will exchange cards, and I might get a small amount of chocolate- just so we have a fun treat for after dinner that day.

No kids yet, but growing up, my parents would give us a card, a pair of fun socks, and a small toy (worth less than $5). I'll do something similar when our daughter is here.

V day is usually low key in our house (but if DH was more into it I would definitely go overboard). DH is getting a card and his favorite chocolate covered pretzels. I was going to make us a nice dinner after the kids go to bed but he has volleyball that night so I’ll probably make heart pizzas with the kids.

DS1, 3.5, is getting a jigsaw puzzle and a small box of chocolates. DS2 is only one, so he’s just getting a new bag of yogurt melts.

I could purchase gifts all day long for my DH and kids, and, unfortunately, Valentine's Day gives me a "reason" to do so. (I love V.Day because it both honors St. Valentine and is the one day where I can dote on my family even more than I usually do! 😉) In order not to spend a fortune, I keep a $50 cap on spending on each DD & DS. DH gets $75. I always purchase a bunch of chocolates for all 3 to share. (See affixed photo for what they will receive this year)

This year, DD (nearly 11) will receive a rainbow unicorn hoodie, a personalized stuffed unicorn, and a Roblox cube with a code she can use while playing Roblox with her friends.

DS (4) will receive a Marvel Avengers Infinity War Titan Hero Series 4-pack of heroes AND a M.A.R.S. WAR robot.

DH will receive a new wallet AND a game (Quick And Dirty: Military Edition) which we can play at home or he can take with him on a training/range week to play with the guys.

All three of them will share a "chest of chocolates" from Harry & David. Each one can pick a few favorites from the chest.

[attach=9021/19/pmm67j.394x600.Screenshot_20190208-104000_Photos.jpg]

To respond to your inquiry as to suggestions for your 2-year old DS: Does he like any characters or media shows? Figures always invite creative play. Does he like games or coloring? There are so many options for each. Will you allow Play-doh or Duplo blocks ... those are always winners with little kids. What about a Melissa & Doug School Bus Wooden Play Set With 7 Play Figures ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K1XF7OA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_diAxCbQ0F2DF2 )? My son has loved and played with his since he was 2. 👍😁

We usually ignore Valentine's Day. I frankly think it is a dumb holiday and prefer to just celebrate our anniversary. Now that my son is in school, I buy valentines for him to bring to his classmates.

My 2 nearly 3 y/o is getting play-doh. He loves play-doh and consistently loses it or shoves it into a toy to dry out and die (which makes me sad because I love play-doh)... But it's cheap and makes him super happy.

I went a little overboard at Christmas, so we're just doing cards and a dinner out when we get the chance... Also my birthday is the next day, so we don't really do much for valentines day.

hmm...we don't give gifts to the kids. Maybe a little valentine card or 1 rose or something. Vday is not a gift giving holiday in our house (like, not parents to kids, or kids to parents).

My husband and I usually exchange a card and sometimes a small gift or night out the following weekend.

DS is 3 and we simply got him something he’s been asking for. Not valentines related lol. Some dinosaur transformer mini trucks. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did buy valentines wrapping. 😂 I got DW a Kendra Scott necklace. IDK what she got me but I really want some pearl studs. We shall see. Skipping candy for each other because we just finished a whole30.

What do you get your kids/DH's?

DD is 5 and she's easy peasy.... she gets flowers delivered to her school (we've been doing this for the past 2 years, she loves it!) and she'll get a born baby surprise and LOL hair goal doll, both things she's been dying to get.

DS is 2 and I have no idea what to get him.... he'd probably just be happy with some candies.....

I ordered DH some chocolate covered oreos to be delivered to his office and I'll get him a card.
