Mine was 86%, if I lose weight. At my current weight, it's 68%.

Suffice it to say, if we ever have a third, I intend to lose a lot of weight prior to the pregnancy. I believe my weight played a big part in why I had a c section with my second, versus my first.

@Trailmix: I think it's asking did you have a c-section because you stopped dilating or the baby stopped descending.

Mine is 38.7%, lol. I will be opting for a repeat c-section.

@beachmama yay! Glad this made you more confident.

@pastemoo yes please report back! Hope it goes well!!!

@trailmix I read that question like if your body stalled out in labor for whatever reason. That was my problem: "failure to progress" (I got stuck at 9cm for 7 hours then my doc was basically like you are never going to make it to 10 we have to do a csection) I think if you never went into labor you answer no because the reason for your cs was due to pre-e / breech, not that your body didn't go through with labor.

@phillybaby2013 SOO encouraging to hear!

I put in my stats from the end of my pregnancy with LO2 and my number was 34.9%. I had a successfully induced VBAC at 41 weeks. Don't let a calculator lend to a decision for the type of birth you want. Obviously all VBACs don't work out and it isn't always the best choice but if my Dr wouldn't even try based off this number I'd find a new one.

What does the last question mean? I never went into labor with my twins (developed pre-ecclempsia at 36 weeks and both were breech so had a c-section). Do I answer yes or no to the last question? I think no? If I say no, then I have a 75% score, which I was happy with until I read previous posters who said most dr's want over 80 to try for a VBAC...I'm NOT pregnant so this isn't really relevant but fear of a repeat c-section is one of the things holding be back from really considering #3...

76.4%. I wonder if my score would be higher if I was younger.

I wasn't going to have the VBAC talk with my OB until later, but I get asked about this frequently. I thought about bringing it up a my next appt. to hear his thoughts and if there is anything I can be doing to better my chances of having a successful VBAC.

Mine was 66.8% but goes up to 79% if I don't say yes to the last question. LO didn't descend but she was posterior so wasn't totally the fault of my own anatomy. When I had my section the Dr told me afterwards there was no reason to think I couldn't have a VBAC next time. We'll see!

@LuLu Mom: I agree that the idea of going through the whole labor again (including 4 hours of pushing the first time) only to have a c-section is really not appealing. Right after my c-section I was gung-ho that next time I'd go for a VBAC but as time has passed and I've read more stories about the greater ease of a planned c-section I am much more up in the air about it...

I, too had an unwanted c-section. My score was 48% but I know I will have to have a scheduled c-section with my next pregnancy because I'm having uterine surgery soon which completely knocks out my chance to vbac.

I did not try for a VBAC but did discuss it as an option and with my OB we decided I was not a good candidate for it. This was based on my body build and the size of my first baby and honestly after experience "both" types of delivery with my first I did not want to risk having that happen again and recovering doubly so I made the decision fairly quickly. I think speaking with your OB is the best you can do and both making the decision together.

60.6% mostly due to my weight. If I "fudge" my BMI it goes up to 80%.

My OB is very pro VBAC and I sought him out for this reason. It's still early (1st tri) but he says that I'm an ideal candidate.

My OB cited this same Grobman score calculator and told me that she didn't feel comfortable letting me do a VBAC given my score, and I would need to find a different OB if I felt strongly about trying for a VBAC. VBAC ended up not being possible for other reasons.

I had an unwanted C section and am starting to do my homework for #2, since I really want a VBAC.

According to this VBAC calculator, I have a 51.3-67.6% chance depending if I select hispanic or not. (I'm half)

here is the link:
